“I’ve lived in Mount Vernon for all my life and have found this place to be one of the best. The only thing I wish they still did was delivery. The food is always good. The service has always been accommodating when they did delivery. And even when I barely had the money to pay for food they still provided service. For me this restaurant has a special place in my heart.“

“The best chicken wings you’ve never had!!!!
My first time trying these wings in 2008, l can say I wasn’t appreciative of its uniqueness but I never forgot its taste. Yesterday while at my hair appointment I decided to take a walk since it wasn’t far from where I was.
Just wow, it was actually even better than i remember.
Crispy, well done and the sugar just elevates this simple dish 🤤 Also NOTICE how I didn’t mention any other menu items, you can go ahead and try those at your own expense 😊
Bo Bo garden is not updated or upgraded, as this area is non gentrified and still has most of its old shops and establishments (which I personally love)
It is very important to stay organic and very you in a fast paced society & I commend businesses that stick to their original practices they know work for them
Anywhoooooo, if anyone tries these wings please tag me in your video and let me know what you think! You won’t regret it, I promise!

“The best chinese place in Mount Vernon... Food is always fresh with little to no msg in it... And the service is always great... No complaints at all... I recommend this spot to any and all who love some good chinese food... You will not be disappointed...“

“I love this place. I literally walk here because I love their food: lo mein, mei fun, wings, fried rice, and white rice - you can't miss anything. They deliver, and you can even order via Uber. The young lady has a sense of humor; we had a reaction with no words, but we laughed. I love both ladies. There is literally no wait for your food the most 5min. You can call or use the app but they're quick and after 15min food is still hot. If you're in Mount Vernon and if you're in the bron and not past 237th then go to Golden Kitchen, it's literally blue on 1st & 4th avenue in Mount Vernon, Google got you but if you know then you'll understand.“

“I recently ordered takeout from Great Wall Chinese Food in New York, and it was a solid experience for classic Chinese-American comfort food. The restaurant has a simple, no-frills setup that’s typical of neighborhood Chinese takeout spots.
I tried the General Tso’s chicken with fried rice, and it was flavorful and satisfying. The chicken had a crispy texture with a sweet-spicy sauce that balanced well with the rice. The portion size was generous, which made it feel like a good value for the price. Many of their popular dishes include beef with broccoli, shrimp with broccoli, lo mein, dumplings, and wonton soup, which are staples on most Chinese takeout menus.
The service was quick, and my order was ready faster than expected. It seems like a place that locals rely on for quick lunch specials or late-night takeout. Reviews often mention the reasonable prices and reliable delivery service, which makes it a convenient option in the neighborhood.
Overall, Great Wall Chinese Food is a good choice if you're looking for affordable, classic Chinese takeout in New York. It’s simple, filling, and perfect when you’re craving fried rice, noodles, or a quick comfort meal.“

“A calm and pleasant spot for lunch.
I came during the afternoon and the place was quiet.
The staff was very friendly and even asked how the meal was at the end.
Note: It’s self-service.
Food: The hand-pulled noodles and broth were fresh and excellent.
The fried side dish was crispy and flavorful.
Drink: The iced black tea with mango was light and very refreshing.
Tip: As you can see in the video - the portions are very generous.
I recommend ordering a small size because I couldn’t finish it.
Seating: I sat by the window facing the street. It was nice to eat and watch Broadway at the same time.
There’s also an inner bar table closer to the kitchen.
The place is clean and the surrounding area feels calm and safe.
Price: Very affordable and filling.
This was my first time trying authentic Chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend and worth saving for a real local meal.“

“My girlfriend and I came here to celebrate a special occasion. They have a good happy hour and the service was fantastic. They are super friendly and attentive. The fried rice is awesome and the general tso’s chicken was delicious, with portions so big that we took home leftovers. If I could recommend one thing it would be the fried dumplings appetizer, best I’ve ever had in NYC. We will be back soon!“
“I'm celiac so we asked about gluten free options when ordering. The staff were very helpful and the chef was able to replace the regular soy sauce with gluten free spicy soy sauce in many of the dishes. So we were able to order most of what we wanted from the menu. I'm writing this the next day and I feel fine. 10/10 service! The food was delicious! Will definitely be back.“

“I stopped in here yesterday for lunch and it was without a doubt top 5 foods I’ve ever eaten, both inside and outside the U.S. The malatang hot pot broth was so savory and umami I couldn’t believe how good it was. Medium spice level was just a tad too much for me and I handle spice pretty well (should have listened to the girl at the front counter…). Cant wait to go back and try the other hot and dry pots.“

“Man, I love this place. Mom & pop business serving up elite dumplings, noodles, and rice bowls. Service is super friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything is so fairly priced, too. I hope we keep this place around forever. The veggie dumplings are great, too.“

The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The cozy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for delicious Chinese food and outstanding service, Pig Heaven is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!“
“They seated us then forgot about us. Then they corrected it quickly. Got dumplings 🥟 to take home they forgot the sauce. I know they just opened. So I’m going to come back in a month or two see if anything has No adult drinks they don’t have they license yet. But over all the food was good & I enjoyed myself“

“We were staying at the Tarrytown house estate and decided to visit Goosefeather for dinner, not having any idea about the restaurant other than that it was located on-site. As Chinese-style martial artists, we were pleasantly surprised to see the Cantonese -fusion menu options as we walked in. Unfortunately, we did not have reservations, but we were able to sit at the bar. What an auspicious turn of luck! The bar offers not only the full menu, but the chance to watch professionals at their craft. We were taken care of by Mariana and Sara, who were busy yet still highly attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, and explained everything even before our questions had a habce to leave our lips. We started with some standard drinks (a spicy martini, and one of their mocktails with Ron Zacapa rum added in). Solid pours, balancing the flavors of the drinks with adequate alcohol to keep things fun). Next week ordered the spicy rice cakes and the potstickers. Each was perfectly done. The potstickers were crispy but not burnt, and paired with a just-right spicy Chinese mustard. There were four per serving, which served to whet out appetites while leaving us waiting for more. Next, we got the spicy rice cakes. These were just hot enough to let the tongue know, but the spice built pleasantly. The plate was pretty big, and the two of us had more than one or two helpings each. Finally, we had the Crying Tiger Tuna. The lightly seared and seasoned tuna was paired with avocado salad, pickled gooseberries, and sweet goji berries. Delicious! To cap it off, we switched up our drinks for two of their signature cocktails. Sweet emotion is a pumpkin espresso martini with a smoky bubble of deliciousness in top. Love in an Elevator is a wild rum ride of flavors I'd never think to blend, such as apricot, chocolate, and lemon. Overall, while pricey, the experience, the food, and the atmosphere made it worth it! As a bonus, we were watched over by a really cool portrait of Bruce Lee!“

“Great food and great service. The food reminds me of home and is reasonably priced. We keep coming back for the ox tail stew, ribs, beef steak, porkchops, dumplings and the boneless chicharonnes de pollo. Most meals are served with white or yellow rice and beans or vegetables. If you want to try something different, they have the beef liver and squid ink fried rice which remind me of squid ink Paella. The combination meals are a great option to try out different dishes. The staff and owners always greet you with a warm welcome.“

“Went to Moon Kee This past Friday. (8/21/26) I had the Garlic Shrimp and Scallops, Shrimp Rice Roll and some dumplings. The food was prepared well; and the portion sizes were generous. Flavor was decent.
My partner and I arrived at 9:40PM. When they say they close at 10:00PM, they really mean they close at 10. The service definitely suffered based on that and the food probably does too, considering that we were told it was too late to order certain items. If you want to eat there, I suggest getting there earlier, and you'll likely have a better experience than I did. I definitely plan to try them again at an earlier hour because I feel like it may be better than what I had.“

“Best chinese takeout around!Been coming here since I was a little kid (over 25 years). Food is good, portions are big. Your beef or chicken with broccoli actually comes with sizable amounts of beef/chicken. Other places just load up on broccoli to keep their profits. You can't go wrong!“

“Loved it so much the first time I had to go back 2 nights later. Well. Guess what. Just as good. Maybe even better. The food and service were both outstanding. Super excited to think we finally found our neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Been a while since we felt that way. And, as good as the classic food is, do not miss desert. Also fantastic. Will be back again soon. For sure. Thank you Wa Jeal.“

“We got here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon just before it got busy. It’s a small and tight space with friendly service. The best things we tried were the shrimp rice rolls and watercress dumplings in pork bone soup - absolutely well made and really delicious. The quality and execution of the food today was much better than our previous visits. Highly recommend for a casual lunch spot.“

“This is a cash only, takeout Chinese spot in the UES. The owners (a husband and wife) are incredibly nice. Food is delicious and the prices are quite low / great value. Call ahead to place your order, and it’ll be done in 10-20min (depending on how busy they are), and pay cash when you pick up your food.
I recommend the eggplant + rice, or Singaporean Mei fun noodles (thin rice noodles).“
“A lot of regional Chinese places can be tough for vegetarians, but Yunnan food relies heavily on wild mushrooms, flowers, and fresh greens. The stir-fried jasmine flower buds with scrambled eggs were delicate and floral, and the cold rice noodle salad with peanut sauce and chili oil was refreshing and perfectly balanced. The ambiance is gorgeous too, with lots of dark wood and warm lighting.“

“The food was really good, but the steaks are paper thin! Looks like they take a steak and put through the slicer to make 2 steaks out of 1, but that was around a year ago, but now the steaks are normal size, I had to come and edit my review, to give them 5 stars!“
