“Let me start by saying this place is for the people. The owner Jimmy is the nicest guy ever, and has been running this place as long as I’ve been alive. The crazy part to me tho is the prices haven’t changed since, with the bill for me and my friends always being around 30$! The food is big portions, delicious, and the service is top tier. While most other diners have gone down hill, changed over the years for the worse, every time I walk into Golden Grill it’s like I’m teleported back to 2002 and it’s just the best weekend breakfast spot ever. Don’t let the lack of modernization turn you off that’s exactly why you should come. You’re not gonna see any TikTok’s or instagram ads of this place you just have to know. IYKYK 🔥 Just felt I had to leave a review after all Jimmy has done for the community by keeping this place alive, affordable, and a part of history.“

You can tell there’s a strong focus on quality and consistency—everything feels freshly prepared, flavorful, and made with care. The restaurant has that dependable local spot energy that makes it easy to keep coming back. It’s also impressive how long they’ve been serving the community and accommodating different dietary needs over the years.

“What a treat to stumble upon Parker & Quinn! It was an intimate atmosphere and a perfect night for me and my 10-year-old daughter. The kids’ menu was so good (the pasta was homemade and so delicious that I had to enjoy a few bites!), and my margarita flatbread was incredible. Great service from our server and another gentleman (the manager?) who came over multiple times to check on us. I highly recommend you check this out if you’re looking for something away from the hustle and bustle and generic nature of Timed Square. Chef’s kiss!“

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“Visited on a rainy day to celebrate our anniversary. It was a small and cozy space. Felt very intimate. We sat on the bar and it was interesting watching the chefs preparing the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our reservation was 5:30 on a Sunday night and we were able to do the happy hour. Literally picked everything from the bites section. The Momo’s were delicious and freshly made. Drinks were delicious. We ordered the jolly duck leg with fried rice and they were AMAZING! Highly recommended and will def come back!“

“I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. Food was wrapped and packaged nicely. Overall the food was good. The cornbread I didn't care for. The red velvet was soft and moist. And not overly sweet. I didn't realize the frosting had nuts, which I wasn't crazy about. Overall, I would definitely come back.“

Mike A was an outstanding server. It all started with a warm welcome by the Maitre D, a great conversation with the Hostess, and then an amazing experience by Mike & the serving staff. The soft shell crab & shrimp cocktail appetizers were exceptional. And we had the 30 oz porterhouse steak to share. Cooked to perfection. Finally, the steak sauce that is prepared at your table is epic. Highly, highly recommend!! Be informed - it does get loud in there when full of customers. Still can't wait to to go back!“
