The food is delicious and authentic. If this were just a take-out establishment I'd give it five stars.The service is the slowest I've seen. We go there every few weeks, so it wasn't an off night. Even when we're there off-peak and it's half empty, the wait staff seems to be busy elsewhere. After a day of exploring NYC (from Illinois) we found Amy Ruth’s after a quick google search of the best soul food near us. The description held incredibly true. The cornbread was warm and moist, the kind that melts in your mouth. We tried the fried chicken (thigh and leg) and my brother said it was the best fried chicken he has had in his life.
