The food was amazing! It was seasoned very well. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed ourselves. We had a party of 15 and they didn't miss a beat. It was a bit pricy for some items but worth it. Very large portion sizes. I will definitely be eating here again!

Great place for soul food! Large and tasty servings. Service was quick too ?Featured is the fried chicken with waffle! But their desserts, specifically the carrot cake and banana cream pudding, are a must-try as well

Pretty disappointed with this place as we came in with high expectations for the southern cuisine they claim to have. From entering the restaurant it was very underwhelming. The place felt under maintained. The service wasn’t welcoming and was pretty slow. The layout of the place was not great at all, making for a bad vibe.We tried the chicken and waffles that they claim is the second best in the country (on their website) and it didn’t stand out one bit. It was pretty basic fried chicken that you can probably get anywhere else. The waffle wasn’t bad but also nothing special. We also got a side order of the chicken wings, mac and cheese, and coleslaw .The chicken wings were very regular in flavor. The mac and cheese was as simple as it gets. The pasta was overcooked and the cheese was nothing special (cheddar cheese). We also had the coleslaw, which was the better of the 2 but also pretty standard.Overall it left a lot to be desired. For a Harlem staple that claims to have some of the best Southern Cuisine, it did not stand out. This place is okay to come to if you’re craving southern food and already live within walking distance. If you live outside of the neighborhood, this isn’t something you can’t already get at your local southern restaurant. Giving it 2 stars because my girlfriend left her purse there and they kindly held it and returned it to us when we came to pick it up.

Beautiful soul food with friendly service. Had fried chicken with cheesy grits and candied yams - yum! Wish I could have sampled more.

My first time visiting Amy Ruth's. The service was very good and the server paid attention to detail. The food came out pretty fast, the cornbread was good. The other items we ordered were okay, a little above average. The prices are not bad for a restaurant in the city.

I hadn’t had food from the restaurant for awhile and was looking forward to it. Had food delivered and the chicken through and through was very hard. Was this just because it’s a delivery? The chicken looked like it was refried more than twice. I couldn’t even eat a bite of it. It was placed in the garbage. Totally shocked that they would serve this to a customer.

When I say this is the real deal, this is the REAL DEAL! My father and I came here, and he said that even the sweet tea reminded him of home (Kentucky). Wish we had tried the chicken and waffles, but the catfish and jumbo shrimp were seasoned so well and the cornbread was delicious. And Tasha, who helped us yesterday was absolutely wonderful and just made us smile even more.
