Sadly East is permanently closed. I've called numerous times and their phone has been disconnected. Since being taken over by a group of Japanese buyers it just wasn't the same. I'm assuming the new management did not see fit to continue on with East's long tradition in Teaneck. I called East in Nanuet and they are open again in Palisades Mall, and not owned by the Japanese company. I also called their Ramen restaurant in Englewood and they said East in Teaneck has been closed permanently. Sad day for sushi lovers.
Reasonably good quality well priced. Satisfying, varied and excellent service. Do service delays! Perfect when you need to eat quickly.
The place offers a nice variety of fresh food. I enjoy dining here. Staff members are always super nice, rates are affordable and the spot is always well organised.
The food is regularly well prepared and delicious, cashiers hands over great service. I loved how clean it is and mood. Will come back again.
The food has always been awesome! I’ve been coming here since I was a small girl and grew loving Japanese food.
The sushi here is amazing, this restaurant has been one of my favorites for years! With the tablets, it’s so much more efficient and the staff is still interactive with the customers. Will definitely be recommending this to all of my friends.
They've really changed this place up. New lights, new paint, new touchscreen tablets, an incredibly delicious menu of assorted Japanese food, a great selection of sushi. I really like how they kept and revamped the conveyor belt sushi and the prices. It's such a great place I'll be coming here for my Japanese food.
There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Bergen county and I’ve tried out plenty in the area but I’ve probably eaten here at least half of all of those times. I keep coming back here for the assortment and the convenience of the conveyor belt sushi. There’s a huge assortment of sushi that just moves alongside the booth tables for choosing that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Aside from that, they serve other types of Japanese food in a reasonable amount of time, they have a good selection of bento boxes and noodles, the waiters are always around and quick to refill water, and the setting is really nice, the place is well kept, good lighting, nice music. A big plus of this place is that orders are made on touchscreen tablets at each table. It’s extremely convenient and streamlined. I don’t see this type of stuff at any other Japanese restaurant or any restaurant in general. Good food, great service, nice menus and ambience. It’s well rounded quality.
We went to Japan a few times and really missed conveyor belt style restaurants. Really glad this place could give us a little piece of our wonderful trips to Japan. There are many choices and the quality is good! We will definitely be returning.
I'll never forget when my friend introduced me to this place now a long time ago. I love it. Once you walk in it's like you've entered a new dimension. I imagine it as Japan in the year 1990 (I've never been so I'm guessing). It's a great feeling. It's really fun with a group of friends or bring a date. They have the rare sushi belt! You can fight with your friends over who gets what and who stacks the highest plates! The sushi is great and so is everything else. It's really awesome they have beer too. That Sapporo ? and sushi ? are made for each other ?. !itadakimasu!

I started coming here a few years ago, but havent visited in quite some time. It looks like some light remodeling happened, removing some of the old diner style facade pieces for beautiful, fitting woodwork paneling. The food options have always been great, and the tablet ordering system was fast and inviting on top of the carousel options. I would say this place is near perfect if you're looking for excellent quality sushi options.
Great place. Efficient. Good prices. Unique experience. Attentive staff.
It was good. Definitely try it. I will always recommend it to my friend.
This used to be the place to go for our family but after the change the quality has gone down and the cost have gone up. I'm all about automation and making things easier but this is done in a way where you don't have human interaction. It used to be a place to enjoy with family but now it tastes much less than before. It's so unfortunate to lose a great place.
Used to be my go-to place for sushi. Hate the tablet ordering (did Applebee's buy this place?) Menus used to provide a description, not so on the tablets. Rolls seem to be much smaller for same price. Definitely missing some favorites on the scaled down menu. Will be looking for a new favorite.
