Is the chef Jamaican? Ain’t no way the food was dry I had a large Rice and peas with jerk chicken and cabbage everything was dry. You guys are loosing costumers if you keep this person who made this food.

11/25/2025 stopped at GKCR around 5:15-5:30 on my way home. I ordered cabbage, rice and peas or peas and rice whichever way you choose to say it. I also ordered a spinach patty. I ate the patty on my way to the next stop the patty was hitting. I got home to eat some of cabbage and rice. I looked at the rice and knew it was going to be a problem. The rice looked bad and tasted worse than it looked. Very disappointed since I had been thinking about the rice and peas damn near all week

Pretty underwhelming experience at this location. I ordered four spinach patties, and they were all overdone; tasted burnt and unpleasant. I also got the snapper meal, but the sauce on the fish was basically just ketchup. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Actually not bad, got the oxtail platter. Cabbage and rice is bland, sweet plantains saved it. Spicy beef patties are good. A little bit more love to the food here would have a line outside the shop. Not a bad joint.

This place has 11pm as their closing time. Came at 1040 and the doors were locked. The staff had already cleaned out everything and told me through the window they were closed. Pretty dumb move for a new branch trying to open up and expand business in the area.

The atmosphere and service were very welcoming. However, the food was alarming. My family and I visited this establishment from out of town. We were in the area to see family and needed something quick to hold us over. I ordered a two beef patties, one chicken and a vegetable patty. As my wife was enjoying her patty, she pauses and immediately and spits it out. My first reaction was that she didn’t enjoy it. However, she looked mortified and stunned. I turned to see a long string of hair cooked within the patty itself. My family has long visited golden krust and this is the first time this has ever happened. We will not be returning to any golden krust establishment. Please internally review your policies and procedures for handling food.

The service here is horrible everyone that works here is either passive aggressive, serves up micro aggressions, or just sloppy serving food in general. Ive never had a good experience here the men have feminine attitudes and all the females give poor service including the boss. The energy here is very weird

I READ THE REVIEWS AND DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A TRY. THE FUNNY THING IS I SAW THEY WAS ON THE NEWS WITH A NEW OPENING AT 307CITY OF ORANGE. THE FOOD LOOKED 😋 SO I GOT GRUBHUB DELIVERED FRM TEANECK. I ORDER PASTA WITH JERK CHICKEN N SHRIMP. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. WAS SO LITE.GET IN AND OPEN IT UP NO JERK CHICKEN:/ I SHOULD HAVE WENT WITH CHINESE 😂. BUT IT WAS GOOD. BUT THAT WAS INCORRECT PREPARED. AND WHEN WE THINK WE GETTING SOMETHING AND IT'S NOT CORRECT MAKES ME UPSET.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is unbelievable that I have lived in Bergenfield and seen this place and never went there to eat. Hands down! Food is amazing! This is such a clean restaurant you see it from the moment u walk in. Behind the back line it is extremely clean. The team is consistently wiping down and making sure all is spotless. This is how restaurants should maintain their place clean. My husband and I had oxtail and rice with peas and the Mac and cheese. This was perfectly cooked taste on point .. love love this place. I will continue to tell friends and family. I wish you lots of luck. Hopefully you are super busy every day. The girls were all friendly and smiling how it should be. Thank you 🙏🏽
