From my daughter “I love the matzo ball noodle soup. The matzo balls are so fluffy, the broth has so much flavor and the noodles are just good. And don’t get me started on the corned beef sandwich.”

Noah’s Ark — The Only Place Where the Sandwiches Are So Big You Need Siyata Dishmaya to Finish Them

If you’ve never been to Noah’s Ark, let me explain: this is not a “grab a quick bite” situation. This is a bring your whole chevrusa, maybe a backup bench, and possibly a pair of tefillin just in case you get hungry again later kind of deli.

From the second you walk in, you get hit with that beautiful old-school deli smell — a blend of pastrami, pickles, mustard, memories, and maybe one guy in the corner doing his taxes between bites.

The portions?
Let me tell you something — you order a sandwich here, and suddenly you understand why the Torah had to make an Ark. These sandwiches are two amos wide, 30 amos tall, and stuffed with enough meat to qualify as a korban. You don’t eat it so much as you wrestle it. And you don’t win — you survive.

The chopped liver? A spiritual experience.
The hot dogs? Mamash geshmak.
The pastrami? If you’re not careful, you’ll hear it talking to you: “Nu, take another bite, you came all the way to Teaneck.”

The staff is heimish, warm, and somehow manages to bring you food faster than you can open your Dr. Brown’s Cel-Ray. (Yes, Cel-Ray — because at Noah’s Ark, you're not drinking anything else unless you're a baal gaavah.)

And the vibe! Classic deli energy. A mix of families, couples, businessmen, Yidden doing errands, and that one guy who’s been sitting there since 1998 but no one questions it because he looks very comfortable.

Bottom line:
Noah’s Ark isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a Jewish deli institution, a rite of passage, a place where you leave full, happy, and carrying two extra sandwiches home because “why not.”

Highly recommend for anyone craving real deli food, real portions, and a real Yiddishe experience.

Food was nothing special, even the basics like matza ball soup, pastrami and knish were sub par.
Service was also poor. It took 40 minutes to get any food served.

They do have a good kid friendly menu.

Beautiful kid, family and disabled accessible Glatt Kosher restaurant on Cedar Lane over 40 years. Has frozen goods for purchase to go. They made out of this world pastrami, the best in NJ +NYC. Husband had a great pastrami sandwich and I had a delicious pastrami burger. GF hanburger bun was perfect, safe for GF eaters. They take over the top precautious for special diets etc. I love this place. They care for their workers and customers.

Way OVER PRICED for what you get! WAWA is far better than this place. I will not be a repeat customer. Never again. Do better Noah. $30 for 2 slices of bread and a wad of meat is robbery.

The food was very good. It came out hot and everyone at our table was served at the same time. Our servers were very good. They fulfilled any request promptly.

I first met Jasmine four years ago when I was a Catering Manager at Upper Montclair Country Club, and since then she has consistently provided outstanding customer service. The food has always been excellent and delivered right on time.

Every interaction I’ve had with the Noah’s Ark team has been just as wonderful!

Now, in my current role as Special Events Sales Coordinator at Park Avenue Club, where we specialize in Weddings, I look forward to continuing our partnership with Noah’s Ark, and especially with Jasmine.

Thank you all for your continued excellence!

Kosher deli & restaurant (or is it restaurant & deli).
Their overstuffed sandwiches are great. I've had the roast beef, brisket, pastrami and they were delicious each time. I also tried the double deckers: got them take out (eg. tongue & chopped liver)... because I'll graze on it from lunchtime to the late afternoon. Never tried the triple deckers, but they should just as yummy.

If eating in the restaurant, I suggest the hot opens, or any of their main dishes -- ya can't go wrong. Try also the dessrts, like rugelach.

Now I'm getting hungry...

We've been customers at NA for over 30 years. Hopefully, last night's meal was an anomaly. There was not a Jewish mashgiach or staff in sight for the 90 or so minutes we were there. The music piped in was mostly R&B, about 70% sung by females. Although the service was pleasant, the nonstop cackling of the staff added to an atmosphere the opposite of the hemisphere environment which has always contributed to the pleasantness of each return visit. And my hot brisket open faced sandwich, was at least 40% fat with the rest dried out beef. Oy, I hate to complain, I'm so sorry, but this was so not the Noah's Ark my family loves. Has there been a change in philosophy or a case of when the cat's away, or...? Thank you, Confused long-term customer

Food was good, service was a little slow, restaurant needs updating, but it's got a rustic feel to it. Prices were reasonable and the portions were larger than most restaurants.

My friend bought a sandwich, I stepped out the door and was hit by a motorized scooter on the sidewalk..
The staff were very very supportive and sweet and helped me a great deal.
