Its been a really really long time since I had Jamaican food that made me want to rate it. This place is really, really good. I had the curry goat and the minute I opened up my box I knew it was going to be on point. I haven’t had the beef patties yet but I’ll be coming back soon !!

They tell you one price but charge a much higher one if you don’t pay attention to your bill. They raise the prices without informing the customers and each employee tells you a different price. Service is trash they’re not even nice. Not going back and wouldn’t recommend. It’s sad considering there aren’t many Caribbean restoranes but they’re overcharging and the food isn’t that great at all. Not worth it

CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU PAY!!!!!! ALSO, make sure you have a currency exchange app on your phone so you know how much things really equal to. Before going here I read the reviews like most ppl do. Everyone said the food was good but some waited HOURS to get the dishes. I read where one lady was charged $180 for something that shouldn’t have been nearly as much. This was my case as well. They think because you don’t live in Jamaica you’re stupid and will just swipe your card without looking at your check. They charged me an extra $17, 000JMD in TAX and told me my bill was $212 USD. Mind you all we ordered were two oxtail dishes at $22.50usd each and a chicken dish which was less than that. My server told me TWICE that that was the correct tax and my bill was accurate. When the owner came she claimed that the server made a “mistake” and it should’ve been “$1,700JMD not $17,000JMD” in taxes. You could tell this was their regular scam routine for tourists. So you mean to tell me that the waiter doesn’t know the difference between $1,700 and $17,000 knowing what he served that table??? Actual bill ended up being less than $80usd. BE CAREFUL AND DOWNLOAD THE CURRENCY APP SO YOU DONT GET SCAMMED.

Soooo A good friend at work has been suggesting I give the Reggae kitchen a try.. I ordered Oxtails, it comes with rice and peas and cabbage. well actually i think just rice lol. The rice was NOT season with coconut milk and thyme but was tolerable I guess. The cabbage was aight( alright) The Oxtails were tasty tho. The small serving was a good size. Overall I have plenty of other good options for Jamaican food. For nearly 25 bucks I will not likely order from here again... because how hard is it for a Jamaican restaurant to make simple rice and peas SMH.
