This is a top-notch Korean restaurant that has maintained a high quality of food and service over the years. Note that the same cannot be said about almost all other Korean restaurants in the area. The cozy, home-like atmosphere is perfect for unpretentious small gatherings. I always feel wonderful walking in and I’m always deeply satisfied after every meal at Myung Ga Won. So grateful and looking forward to future meals there.

As a Korean, Authentic Korean food, not too pricey, just like a restaurant in Korea.

Living in Demarest, I've seen many Korean restaurants come and go in Closter, Cresskill, Tenafly, and in between. I've then heard that this has opened and came a few times, during lunch and dinner times. I've tried the $10 lunch and $15 JungSik (정식) specials, soft tofu soup (순두부찌개), and tonight.. KalGookSoo, 'Noodle Soup' under their winter specials (칼국수). I've always had great-tasting Korean meals. I love that I don't have to drive out to Palisades Park or Fort Lee for a Korean meal that is not sub-par/mediocre. This place has the 'homemade by mom' taste to their dishes, side dishes, AND dessert SikHye (식혜) 'rice drink' is chilly and delicious. Great attentive service. Has become one of my favorite local spots and glad that it's a Korean restaurant!
Last order is at 6:50pm.
They close at 8 but start getting ready to close at 7:30.

Poor quality food. Neither tasty nor fresh.
Especially 된장찌개 was the worst.

3 people ordered 4 dishes, but because they used expensive ingredients, they only gave us enough side dishes for one person and did not refill them. Even though we asked for more, but they dont want to give it. Either stop giving us side dishes, increase the portion size, or raise the price of the food.

Disappointing, they use a ton of msg in the food. Do not get your hopes up. They are much better places for food. I will definitely will not return.

My friend ordered from here takeout while I was with her. I tried a whole bunch of different foods she bought for like $55 worth. They were all very good from 5 different dishes I tried.
Parking: Maybe 7 spots of parking but that's good enough. I think there are spots across the street too. I wasn't paying that much attention because it was a spontaneous visit.

I really liked the side dishes that made me feel like I was eating at home and the delicious food that wasn't salty. The set menu seems to be very good value for money.

We frequented this Korean restaurant for a prix fixe set menu. No-frills Korean food and portions were so good for relatively cheap price. Low expectations will yield high satisfaction.
