The restaurant is fairly cozy with a clean restroom. First thing I noticed was how kind and friendly the lady at the front was. She was extremely helpful with assisting me navigating what to order. The food came out hot and was delicious! The food taste and quality exceeded my expectations for chinese food in Tom's River. My only complaint is I wished they added the word "Bbq" in front of the Roast Pork Chow Fun for the menu as I was expecting crispy skinned roast pork. I love supporting these small family businesses that put in the effort to make their food good. Will visit again next time I'm in Tom's River!

I received a very friendly greeting by the counter staff who was very helpful. I ordered the Sichuan chicken lunch special with hot and sour soup. The soup was lackluster and was actually more sweet than anything else. Further the soup was much to thick and had obviously been thickened with too much cornstarch slurry. The chicken dish was nothing to write home about and appeared to have been artificially colored red. Again mire sweet than piquant as a Sichuan dish should be. Don't think I'll be back.

This is basically a take out places with a couple of tables by the door. I have no problem with that because it's clearly meant to be a take out place...but the food is greasy. I ordered a lunch special shrimp with broccoli and an egg roll and pork fried rice but it was all too greasy.

I've been ordering from this establishment for the last 2 years on a weekly basis. Every time you call this place the language barrier gets progressively worse as the only words they know are "my friend, my friend."To top that the owner (whoever the "my friend" lady is) has the worst attitude when you provide feedback about the food being burnt or just not having a protein in the meal (order chicken in garlic sauce, you expect chicken -- not this place)So, on the occasions when the food is correct, you get one of the two slobs who deliver it to your house, who look as if they haven't showered in a month.Do yourself a favor, rather order from here - just microwave a TV dinner... I've spent the money for you not to... I never write a review, but this lady doesn't deserve another dollar of anyone's business.This lady banned my address, shame on me for "giving another shot" but don't make the mistakes I made.I'm all about supporting small businesses - anyone recommend a place worth supporting?

We have ordered from Five Star numerous times and have been very happy every time. They repeat your order when you call for accuracy. The food is always hot when delivered (and tasty). Very terrible service. I ordered food for myself and my son. We were the only 2 in the restaurant yet 30 minutes later, our food was not ready so we walked out. We went to another restaurant that was 5 minutes away and placed 2 orders. The food was ready in under 15 minutes. Don't waste your time with this place. It's a disappointment. And they have the nerve to be named "five star".. more like one star. What a joke. Smh.
