La Scala Italian Pastry Shop has the best Italian pastries in Ocean County. Their selection of cookies, cakes, pastries and breads is larger enough to please all. Everything is always fresh and delicious, the staff is polite and knowledgeable and each staff member knows the name of each item and what they are made with. I make the trip from Whiting often because I’ve tried other bakeries, and La Scala can’t be beat!

Drove up from the Southern end of the county on a recommendation from a friend that works in TR. Totally worth the effort! AMAZING cannoli and the birthday cake was a huge hit! Clean, friendly, traditional and delicious Italian pastry shop!

Ordered 7 trays of mini italian pastries and 3/4 sheet cake for father's 80th birthday. Pastries were fresh and delicious. The cake was great too. Icing not to sweet and cake was light

When i was a Little lad they gave me a tour of the facillities, unbeknownst to me i would be thrown in a mixer and locked in a freezer, luckly i escaped back to the tour and then i enjoyed some cake. In modern times they have a unfriendly employee there

I called to order a cake (never was there before), the woman who answered the phone told me that they always have mocha cake and I didn’t have to order it. When I went to the store, the girl who helped me was very nice. I wanted to add writing and flowers on the cake, also some of the mocha powder dusted on top. The ONLY thing she was told she could do is write on the cake. So, for a 60th birthday cake that I wanted a little special - I didn’t ask for anything unreasonable, I couldn’t get. The woman that answered the phone assured me I could get what ever I wanted, they had them all the. I’m just pretty disappointed because the cake was SO expensive and I couldn’t make it special at all. Will not come back. I came from 10 miles away (I would certainly travel somewhere farther away to get something that’s worth it) Needless to say I won’t be back

Always a staple for us when we need to have dessert for company and we can get it even later in the day. There is not too many places to get decent pastry for coffee after dinner and this is always fresh, tasty, open later and the staff are friendly. At least some things stay the same in a good way. Thank goodness for a decent cannoli!!
