Amanda our server was exceptional. Went over and above to make our dining experience special
Got the porterhouse for two and it was excellent. Although it's pricey, you get two sides with it, so it turns out to be a good deal. Cooked perfectly, we thoroughly enjoyed it
One of the best restaurants in the area. Everything from octopus, to filet mignon and the specials are delicious. Everything is prepared with a beautiful appearance as well as tasty. The setting is very pleasant - formal, bit not overly so. Service is very attentive.
WENT FOR FATHER'S DAY WITH OUR FRIENDS - SERVED BY CHRIS - ORDERED BEET SALADS AS A STARTER FOLLOWED BY SURF AND TURF FOR ME / MY HUSBAND HAD THE RIB EYE STEAK ALONG WITH THEIR FRIES SHARED - OUR FRIENDS HAD PORK - ALSO A STRIP STEAK WITH FRIES SHARED AS WELL .. BYOB. MY HUSBAND HAD THE CHEESECAKE ALONG WITH EXPRESSO - WHAT A WONDERFUL EVENING TO SPEND TOGETHER !!!! A LITTLE PRICEY BUT WELL WORTH YOUR TASTE BUDS TO ENJOY QUALITY CUISINE . MANAGER /OWNER SAYS HELLO TO EACH GUEST -
Our server was outstanding. The pork chop was dry and the wedge salad left a lot to be desired. The dressing was greasy and the chunks of blue cheese were very unsubstantial. It was a far cry from the traditional wedge salad to which we are accustomed.
We dined on a Sunday and were among the first tables seated at this BYOB bistro. The restaurant decor is lovely, but the many windows give on to the parking lot and the busy road beyond. Sheer or translucent light-filtering window treatments would add to the intimacy of the dining room before sunset. To start, we enjoyed the charcuterie board with 2 cheeses, 2 meats, grilled bread, olives, fruits, fig jam smear, and a morsel of honeycomb. The frenched chicken garnished with tomato and a slice of artichoke heart served over mashed potatoes with scampi sauce was moist, tender, and delicious, as was the bouillabaisse with fresh halibut that my husband enjoyed. The ample grilled broccolini were firm and tasty. For dessert, the churros with dipping sauces were very crunchy but a tad too dense. Service was kind and attentive. Overall, a very pleasant meal, if just a bit pricey for the experience.
Outstanding restaurant, The owner and staff are very friendly, and the Chef is cooking up the Best steaks and Seafood Dishes around. Definitely try this place..
The food is outstanding for a local restaurant. Probably the best in Toms River. Menu choices could use a fish option. If you're a meat lover this is your place. Prices are high but quality is excellent.
My husband and I had a lovely dining experience at Rue 561 Bistro! Emma, our hostess, and Chris, our server, were attentive and gracious, with excellent grasp of the menu and esteem for the chef/restaurant. The atmosphere is ideal for “friendly fine dining” ...pleasant music, seating lay out fostered comfort and quiet conversation. Our meals and desserts were delicious! Rue 561 Bistro offers a fine dining experience that our area has been lacking.. We are already planning another evening there!
A hidden gem that is being discovered by more people. At 7 PM last night there was a good number of people dining. Chris the waiter is always wonderful and attentive with a smile and genuine small talk. The owner (I guess) was there to see that everything went smoothly. I had the wedge salad, pork chop and side of Brussel sprouts. Date had Short Ribs- everything was delicious and perfect. If you have not been here, put it on your list and BYOB

Rue561 Bistro was such a pleasant surprise We passed it many times and decided to go on Saturday. The food was outstanding, waiter Chris was excellent and the owner stopped by to say hello A very good experience all around. We will make it a regular stop
Tucked away in a quiet corner of town, this cozy restaurant is a delightful escape for anyone craving exceptional cuisine and a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a perfect balance of creativity and indulgence, featuring standout dishes like perfectly cooked steaks, fresh and flavorful seafood, and their signature truffle mac and cheese a rich, satisfying favorite. Every plate showcases fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation, and the homemade desserts are the perfect sweet finish to an already stellar meal. Service is warm and attentive without being intrusive, making you feel like a welcomed guest from the moment you arrive. Whether you're enjoying a romantic dinner, a peaceful solo meal, or a relaxed gathering with friends, this restaurant delivers a consistently outstanding experience. In a world of rushed dining and cookie cutter menus, this place reminds you of what a truly great meal feels like. Highly recommended.
Always an amazing meal, the chef is in my opinion, one of the best in Toms River. Our waiter Chris was excellent and provided us with great service. I've eaten here many times and I have never had a bad meal and have always enjoy myself.
Was a special occasion. First time here, and food was excellent. The tomahawk for two was delicious. I have been to many steak restaurants and this beat many. It's definitely expensive but worth it. It's a byob. Only thing I would say could be an improvement would be great bread for the table to eat with the roasted garlic served. Octopus for appetizer was the best I have had. A+++
The food was amazing and service was exceptional. I was happy they expanded the menu with a couple more choices.
