The Pollo Saltado with plantains and peppery green aji sauce is a terrific combo. We get it every few weeks and it never disappoints. Friendly service too.

Stopped by here randomly and WOW it blew me away! The staff is super nice and as someone who spent several months in Peru, this is some of the best Peruvian food I've ever had. Will be returning and bringing friends lol

I visit at least monthly to get a whole chicken and chaufa. The sauces are spicy and full of flavor. The vibe is cozy and friendly. They have an outdoor patio and TVs to watch the big game. When in the area definetely make a stop here!!

This place is so good!! We've tried the tallarin de camaron, lomo saltado, and chicharron plate. You can't go wrong! Everything comes out steaming, and the flavors are amazing. Highly recommend.

Long-time customer review after repeated offenses see below: The food has been great and consistent for a long time, and It's the best for me. I'm a loyal long-time customer. Big fan of the whole chicken and the pollo saltado with some green ahi sauce to compliment them. My wife loves the shrimp tallarin, which she complains of dry noodles due to the little sauce it comes within the pan when you get the dish to go The service is amazing everyone is super nice. Just watch out for the sauce police girl at the front desk lol, because their sauce is super good. The ambiance is good to dine on the newly made patio area, but I usually pick up and go.

I have the good fortune of being married to a Peruvian! Being introduced to Peruvian cuisine has been a treat. I have tried many, many restaurants here in LA as well as in Peru - and I can say this is the best Lomo Saltado I have ever had! So so so good!

Sometimes I crave rotisserie chicken and El Dorado comes out on top compared to other local options. What makes El Dorado so great is the fact that is a Peruvian restaurant and your order comes with sauces that are so addicting. The rotisserie chicken is packed with flavor and pairs well with the sauces. El Dorado is one of those places that is on top of my list when I can't decide what to have.

As you can see, the food is really good. I've been to 3 different Peruvian restaurants, including the fancy pants one in Highland Park, and this place is still my favorite. The people here are also very friendly, they let us sit at the "VIP" table :P Also she recommended mixing the two drinks, and it was also really good!

This place is so amazing. From the food to the service. Walked in and was greeted with a smile. The staff was so friendly. We sat at the patio outside it is so cute with a plant dense to block the street traffic. They also have indoor dining as well. It was nice outside so we dinned out. Tables to picnic for more than a small crowd. Plenty of seating for all. Let me say I had their frita yuca was so good. Lightly salted and crispy the way I like it. Was not great at all. We had the 1/4 chicken plate with sides of salad, plantano maduro perfectly cooked. The chicken breast was falling off the bone. We also had the salad with dressing. Omg! The dressing was delicious. It was tangy and tart. A perfect combo. My niece is vegetarian and had the Lomo Saltado , I'm no vegetarian and it look so tasty. It had tofu mixed in instead of meat. Lastly, this hidden gem in Pasadena is a gem. It's a must for a person to families. Trust me you will enjoy eating there. You will not be disappointed. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a pick of the yummy food. Look on yelp their food is legitimately good.

I'm a big fan of pollo a la brasa and usually travel all the way to Ktown to my favorite place. But it's sometimes too much of a hassle so I was glad there is another Peruvian roast chicken place in Pasadena. The chicken at El Dorado is also wood fire roasted with ample herbs and spices. The skin was crispy albeit the breast was a little less moist than Pollo a la Brasa Western. The salad was decent with a honey citrus dressing. The fried plantain was delicious with just enough sweetness and a slight potato like texture. The quinoa salad was made with a lime dressing with cucumbers, pearl tomatoes, plus red and green bell peppers. Light but fulfilling. Western is still my favorite place; but, El Dorado is definitely a good substitute without a long drive.

One of my good friends rolled with my to a hobby shop in Pasadena. While out there he asked if I wanted to have lunch and he wanted to show me El Dorado Pollos a la Brasa. This is a place that he would go to often during his work lunch breaks. This establishment is a nice small spot with great food. When people hear about Peruvian food they automatically think Saltado. I think about tallarine verde. Both great dishes and this place delivers! There isn't too many seats here so I would avoid the lunch rush if dining in or just do take out. I can't wait for my next visit! Parking: small private lot, neighborhood parking VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

My friend took me to this really yummy new restaurant on Orange Grove, in pasadena. I didn't know about Peruvian food, but I was sold after I tried the Lomo Saltado, which is rib eye star sautéed with onions, tomato, french fries, and served with white rice. The menu is simple, four or five main items but they are really good. I can't wait until I go back.
