As of three days ago, there is new ownership at this cute nostalgic diner with plenty of things to look at all around and flashbacks in history. The new owner and wait staff are extremely friendly, great experience very accommodating no vegan items on the menu yet, but they can modify. I gave this solid five stars because it’s exactly what you expect from an older diner car experience the food, the coffee, the atmosphere.

Vegetarian options: This is diner food, however, the owner and and staff understand vegetarian and vegan options and can modify certain items to accommodate. They made me my now coined-phrase, PLT (peppers, lettuce, and tomato) and I added onions just for an added kick.

Stopped in a week ago, first time ever. Had a wonderful breakfast, hot and fresh. Found out it had new owners...it's a quiet little spot for many locals and good ppl passing thru. Would eat there again and would recommend it. Stop in and show your Jersey love to the new owners, they will love u back! ♥️

The food is great and while your eating you can look around at all the old memorabilia. They now play oldies music while you eat. The new owners are fantastic, very friendly. it's a gem of a place. I highly recommend.

if you're looking for the rude experience, this is the place for you. the staff will tell you what you want no matter how you order it. they will dismiss your request for no onions & tell you you are wrong for not wanting them. if you like undercooked eggs & cool undercooked pork roll, this is your place. you even get.to pay extra for the crappy service. $45 for 2 omelets & hashbrowns they insist you take. no matter how you explain that you just don't like home fires or hashbrown or breakfast potatoes. they won't shut up ti you just agree to take them. they even belittled a family formnot shutting the outside door before they even got a chance to sit down. if all that sounds appealing, it's the place for you. if you want kind service & good, fully cooked food that you actuallyp ordered, don't even bother.

Stopped in on Sunday for a late breakfast- this place is a true hidden gem! If time travel were possible in an old school box car diner, it is possible here. The deco is like stepping back to another decade but with everything you want from the past- great service, friendly people and engagement with your environment for a dining experience. Everything is made fresh and local ingredients for a diner menu. Ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were the best I have had in a long time… the blueberries a staple for NJ but the light fluffy pancakes perfectly cooked golden brown were delicious. If you are taking the back roads to the beach, take the time to stop here instead of the big conglomerate franchises for to-go factory food. If you appreciate the value of sitting down for a good meal, genuine conversation, great service and possibly interested in time travel, this is the place to stop. Thank you Angie and Gregory - not only a great breakfast but restoring my faith that good people are still out there.

Place is horrible they were out of most of the stuff on the menu, the salad I ordered had dirty lettuce and over cooked chicken my kids waffle was so hard I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it. She ate maybe three pieces and gave up on it. Skip this place and go right to Dino’s

This is cute little diner very old. The waitress was very nice I think this could be a good place but the food was very slow coming out to the table. We were there for breakfast eggs, sausage home fries and toast coffee juice. The coffee was very fresh , the toast was served to the table 6 minutes before the food came out and it was cold and hard. It was almost like the toast was done and sitting back there, the butter wouldn’t melt on it because it was so cold. When the food finally came the eggs and home fries were warm not hot. The only thing that was hot was the sausage, I assume that was why the food took so long we were waiting for the sausage to get done. I have never seen links of sausage split down the middle and fried that way I guess it was to get the middle cooked. The price was very reasonable for breakfast. I do think this place could be a good spot if the timing on the food could get better. Also it could use a little sprucing up maybe some new blinds and a good cleaning. Very cluttered with old memorabilia.

Stopped in with our two grandsons 3 and 8 for lunch. The place smelled like sewage and on the dirty side. Tried to order chicken tenders off the kids menu but was told they where out of them that I would have to order the adult size which was $16+ dollars. I did happen to see they had them in the appetizer section for $8 for 3 tenders so we ordered them. I ordered a 1/2 lb cheese burger deluxe, with a side of mayo. When I received my order the first thing I noticed was the Mayo packets she gave me were swollen and when I opened I could tell they were expired. The mustard on the table had separate and no matter how hard you shook it only a watery mess came out. When I opened the bun to put on the tomato I noticed the burger was very thin. The real issue was when I took a bite. The burger was so hard, crusted, over cooked and dried. My husband called the owner who was the only waitress over. We told her it was way over cooked. She looked at it walked over to the counter yelled to the man in the back that I am complaining it's over cooked. I thought they were making me a new burger, the rest of may family continued to eat their French toast and the chicken tenders which my grandson said tasted funny. I ran to the bathroom while waiting and I turned the water on to wash my hands it came out brown. I had never seen that before. I let it run for a few minutes but it remained brown. I didn't end up even washing my hands. When I got back to the table still no burger just the nasty one still sitting there. Then the woman comes over and hands me a to go box and said it's to take my burger home in. I told her I'm not taking that home it's over cooked. She said well that's how we cook them. And I said well I can't eat that. And she yelled "THEN DON'T EAT IT!" This has got to be the worst place I've every been in to eat and the rudest owner and service.Ps. Owner responded to this review that I wanted a free meal. I never asked to have it removed from my bill. We simple paid and did not leave her a tip being she was our waitress.

Have become friends with owners who are a very nice Greek couple. Breakfast is great with healthy portions. Sausage is excellent, extra crispy home fries, coffee is good too! Love the authentic railcar diner interior. A must stop!
