I had the most wonderful exchange with Maria the owner today. She is the sweetest most engaging person I have had the pleasure to meet in a long time. Although I have lived in Union City for decades, I had not noticed this bakery. Be prepared to stay longer than you expected and purchase more than you planned! Everything is fresh and hand made with natural ingredients something I no longer expect. The customer service is something from days gone by and very welcomed to those like me of a certain generation, when this was the norm! I just finished eating a Hand rolled baklava (Sarali) and all I can say is WOW!!! I don't have enough adjectives to describe how happy I am to have found this gem in close proximity to my home! 100% recommendation!!

I only recently re discovered the Bakery.One of my favorites has always been the cheese strudel. I personally can tell you the Family are some of the kindest People you will ever meet. They were so welcoming to my Dad and I when we moved to Highlands in 1985 when I was just 18 and we had moved back from Germany. We met the Family as we livedin an Apartment next Door to their Home.My Husband and I will once again enjoy the amazing food and believe me, you'llwant to order everything! Congrats to now nearly 100 years !!

I am Armenian and I have not found a place anywhere from NY, Florida or Myrtle Beach that made baklava like my family made.( Very hard work that is why I don't do it?).You will not be disappointed, trust me. I been going here for Greek Bread for almost 50 years, on Easter there is Greek bread with colorful Easter colored eggs on top and New Years a greek bread vasilopita which has a special coin in it. Whoever gets the slice with a foil covered coin has good luck for the new year. The best Greek coffee and Maria is always the most accommodating person around.
