I really wanted to like this place and was super-excited to try the food here based on the reviews and based on a recommendation. However, my food experience was disappointing.
I will preface this review by saying I did enter the restaurant right at opening at 11:00 a.m. so that may have contributed to my experience.
Item ordered: 1/2 bbq chicken and 1/2 ribs combos with black beans, came with rice.
First the good: 1) friendly staff, 2) atmosphere was okay, 3) they do give you a lot of rice, 4) they do have other choices for sides, and 5) seasoning on the 1/2 chicken and 1/2 ribs was good.
Now the areas for improvement: 1) size of the chicken was small, looked more like a Cornish hen, 2) the meat in the two pork ribs was almost non-existent, 3) the black beans had no flavor and tasted like they were simply warmed up, 4) no meat only menu options, at least I didn’t see any, and 5) the rice was just meh as it did not have any flavor really and had a few peas, very few, but this is a bbq place and not a “sides” place. A meat only menu option like other bbq places would be a nice option.
In my opinion, based I the areas for improvement, the food was not worth the price and I would not return based upon this one experience. Again, this may have been due to the time I came to eat, I hope so as I really like to positively support small and locally owned businesses.
I will say that they were busy as heck with to-go orders and the phone was constantly ringing for new orders.

This was my staple spot ...even just a few days ago I ordered a half a chicken. The reason I would specifically order from them is because, not only was the chicken well flavored, but it wasn't that big steroid injected chicken that you see at the grocery store. And all these restaurants that serve jumbo wings only. Until today. It's the big steroid injected chicken that everybody else is selling that has tougher meat and less flavor

I thought I would like this place how Ever I went to pick my order up. and was told 25 minutes in advance, wait I came in and was Rudely addressed.then I said my name for the order’ and he kept trying to help other customers when he was suppose to be helping me now I’m a very patient person .now what “ really got me after all the horrible customer concern . I was told my food was at there other location now I think if you had any customer knowledge or concern you would’ve asked or said can we place the order’ for you since you already waited somehow the food was not there when I know I call them at that location it might of bin a mistake Evan though they were downright rude won’t bring my money there then if you can’t respond with the experience needed.and better customer service. food spots in NJ are all Turing into (wholes in the wall) no good customer service is suppose to be top tier customers are always right that’s why business’s are failing greatly.

Everything was delicious. Food was fresh, warm, hearty, savory and satisfying. Great service! Comfortable atmosphere. A great option for family meals, when unable or unwilling to cook at home. 😁 Good sized portions. I had the Chicken in Garlic Sauce with rice and beans. My friend has the BBQ Ribs and Chicken with Rice, Cabbage and Boiled Potatoes. This spot has been added to my weekly meal rotation.
