Nice cozy spot for great Puerto Rican food. Tasteless, alcapurrias, arroz con gandules, y lechon. Place definitely is a hidden gem. Price is affordable. Highly recommended.đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»

I love this place because of how much they care about maintaining a consistent quality of food and at good price. For that reason I will not allow my frustration to hurt their ratings on Google.

But it is truly selfish & borderline egotistical for any food establishment to close their doors 3 days out of the week. Even the most boujie restaurants in New York close 2 days maximum.

It was not long ago that this place was a food truck trying to figure out their success strategy. And now that they have a storefront? It seems they are too “full of themselves” to cater to the people more than 4 nights a week. It’s disappointing. I hope the owner goes see this and hopefully opens his doors at least an additional day per week. The amount of money some people, as well as myself spend there, just to be rejected on other days because you feel like closing is not right

EXCELLENT. We’re a Puerto Rican family and just didn’t feel like cooking this Christmas. Ordered arroz con gandules, pernil, pastelon, mini empanadas, alcapurias, papá rellena, and Pasteles. Everything was PERFECT. We will definitely be back.

The guy in the front doesn’t have very good costumer service. I’m guessing they don’t have much competition in the area, because their hours are extremely limited and they’re closed three days a week. đŸ€Ł

This is a hidden compact gem in Union. When you’re in the mood for Hispanic authentic Puerto Rican food, then say no more. Family vibe. Top notch Spanish flavors!! And when you think it’s over. The deserts are your after lunch/dinner delight. One word “amazing”. Remember to order ahead. If you are lucky, you will find an empty seat take it.

I stopped by their food truck at the Food Truck Festival at the Paramus Park Mall today and was very happy with the Lechon Burger. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The patty was flavorful, not greasy, tasted unique, and was cooked perfectly. The addition of the ground chorizo definitely gives this patty a unique flair that regular burgers just don't have. The bun was high quality, white American cheese perfectly melted, and the onions fresh. I had them hold off on the mayo-ketchup spread, but did try their mayo-ketchup-garlic spread and their hot sauce on the side. Both condiments are really good. I dislike anything with ketchup, but found that their mayo-ketchup-garlic spread was really good and mixed very nicely. Their hot sauce had just the right amount of heat and flavor and was nicely salty. The fries were very good too and tasted high quality and were perfect for dipping in one of their sauces. Lastly, the service was friendly and the prices very reasonable. I would definitely eat there again. It has the home cooking, family vibes, and is a unique option for lunch or dinner. I am looking forward to trying their Mofongo Relleno next!

My father traveled from California and he was craving some “Puerto Rican” food, we found this restaurant and thought let’s try it. We walked in and the man at the register was extremely rude. Didn’t offer us a menu or anything told us he was too busy to attend to us and it would be a 40 min wait! He was loud and very inappropriate, all the customers sitting and waiting just stared at us as if we were invading the restaurant. Very uncomfortable feeling and will not be returning. Not a very good first impression.

I understand you may have seen the footage but the manner in which your employee addressed us was not polite or respectful. It felt very dismissive . We had no problem waiting but we did not feel welcomed.
I wrote this review to make sure that this doesn’t happen again and maybe show the employees polite customer service etiquette. No matter what the circumstances are. Again we weren’t even offered a menu, he straight up basically said he couldn’t serve us. However thank you for taking the time to respond.

Omg! What I was missing most after moving to NJ from NYC was my local cuchifrito! I’ve found it! The food is phenomenal! The peril melts! The empanadas are seasoned well and packed with meat. The staff is sweet and inviting.

Caught them at the Just Jersey food truck festival last weekend. Tried the chicken empanadas and they were pretty good. Nice size portions etc, however, it was the start of the event and the truck had no sour cream. That's literally the one thing we eat these with, so they offered us a similar version of sour cream with some kind of crema mixed in, but it was too spicy for my kid, so she wasn't a fan and therefore, couldn't finish her food. I def think SC is something the truck making Latin food should keep on hand! It's pretty common.
