Magic Fountain Union Creamery Homemade Ice Cream

My favorite ice cream shop.
They have homemade ice cream in regular flavors and unique creations tied to the seasons.
Tops: Banana, Cannoli, and the Coffee & Kahlúa is amazing.
The staff are very friendly and allow you to taste before purchase.
Almost forgot, they also have different flavors for the cones.

I grew up with an ice cream shop walking distance from our home and often times had ice cream for dinner. Now in my own home, in a different state, I am grateful to have a local, homemade ice cream store to supplement dinner with :)
The shop is clean, spacious, has great decor and energy and the owner and staff are very welcoming and personable. Aside from the wide selection of traditional and seasonal flavors, the chocolate dipped waffle dish and the gummy bear topping are a staple for every visit!

Decent ice cream but shitty service. One of the girls behind the counter that was helping us caught an attitude because we asked to try three different flavors before we decided on which one to order. I was so turned off that I decided just to get my kids ice cream and nothing else.

Magic Fountain delights and delivers! I stopped in for a sundae and a milkshake, but was drawn, inexplicably, to the $5 Mystery Bag. What a stunning value! A waffle cone, two smaller ice creams, a quart of ice cream and three toppings. All were delicious; Highly recommended!

The ice cream is absolutely amazing but what made the experience even better was the lovely ladies working last night (8/31). They were truly so much fun and I will be coming back anytime I need delicious ice cream and a good laugh!

I’ve been going to this place since I was a child, and I’ve always loved coming in. However, I was disappointed to see they’ve now joined the bandwagon of passing labor costs and credit card fees onto their customers.

I don’t mind tipping—I’ve worked as a server and bartender, so I understand the importance of it. If you make me a sandwich, I’ll gladly tip you. But this type of mandatory tipping feels more like a way for owners to avoid paying fair wages, ultimately letting the rich get richer.

And now, on top of that, there’s a $1 fee for credit card transactions? In this economy? That’s excessive. Most places charge a small percentage if they pass on fees—not a flat rate.

I wrote to them suggesting they should clearly post the credit card fee, and they replied that the sign is by the first register. I didn’t see it. I suggested they display it outside or at least on their website, where people can see it before they decide to go in.

Honestly, a $1 fee for using a credit card isn’t reasonable. If they insist on passing fees along, it should be a small percentage—like other businesses do

Delicious ice cream

I was put on to the non dairy ice cream. And I love it. Got the vanilla didn't like the mango sampler. But the vanilla was on point. Now I can feel like I'm part of the in crowd. Because I can't eat dairy for about 7 years now. Thank you
