I’ve tried to give this place chances. Today was the 3rd and last disappointment. The chicken patties were hard and dry. Not to mention my mom and I felt sick shortly afterwards. Previously, we tried their Mac n cheese and we could tell it was not made fresh. Hopefully this review will make them want to do better:

My first experience with the food was terrible. For a Caribbean cuisine it’s really bad, food was tasteless. Jerk Chicken was burnt, cabbage, rice & peas taste wasn’t fresh. The sauce had no jerk flavor at all. Very disappointed ☹️.

I dont know if I visited on a bad day. But I was disappointed, food was dry flavorless. I ordered small orders of 2 different plates and patties and not one thing was good. So so so disappointing. Have yet to find good west indian food in NJ. Huge sigh!

I've eaten here four times and the last two times I was here the rice didn't taste fresh and the jerk chicken tasted like it was some BS....the first two times the lady was there and last two times she wasn't. Maybe she is the key to the good food.I'll try it one last time cause I know they can do better than serving clunky rice

Never been to Mama Sher's personally but always ordered from there using UBER EATS. Food was always delicious with excellent portions. Then one day they were no longer offering delivery. I wish she still delivered. I miss the authentic Caribbean cuisine Mama Sher"s provided.
Last week I spent my last $21 on some old cabbage, left over oxtails bones no meat, rice peas was very old. I am very disappointed at mama Shers stell oxtail dinner.
I was craving Jamican food, and this was the closest one available, so I was like let me give them a try ? I ordered the oxtail, rice and Peas with Mac and cheese... waited 1hr, wasn't too bothered because I was thinking that yes my food is going to be hot and fresh(WRONG!) The rice was SALTY and I don't think that was oxtail because it lost all of its flavor. I honestly think that they had the food in their freezer and then warm it up when the customer order it. I didn't like it at all and Iam so disappointed.

Terrible customer service. If I could rate zero stars I would. I placed an order by phone and was told it would be ready in 45 min. I arrived 10 min after the phone call so I decided to use the restroom and sit on the inside. The door of the restroom was locked and beside it was a sign that clearly read “Restroom is for customers only”. As I went to ask if the door was locked, some old man who didn’t acknowledge my existence said not a word and some “man” from the back came and said that it was locked while the older man said someone was in there (all of a sudden saw that I was there). Weird that they both said two separate things so I sat and waited. Another 3 min or so goes by and I go back up to the counter to ask the older man if he was sure someone was in there. Again, he never looked up even though I started to tap on the plexi glass to get his attention. The “man” from the back comes out and I asked him how does the older man know someone is in there, then the older man gets up and says sorry while trying to pass me the keys. The man from the back asked if I was buying anything and I told him that I had already told the old man I ordered over the phone. He then proceeds to tell me that the restroom is not “really” for customers so I told him the sign says so, and he says again it’s not really for customers. So I told him they need to remove the sign and they can keep the food. I will NEVER come again. It gave very racist vibes . What a way to make a first impression.

Mama Shers is not in my neck of the woods but I thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did. I can't comment on everything but the jerk chicken was outstanding. The beef and chicken patties were also great. I'll be back the next time in the area or maybe even make a special trip.

Mama Sher's catered food for my daughters party and everyone raved about the food. We had oxtail, j*** chicken, curry chicken, rice and peas, plantain and vegetables and everything was beyond good. Thank you for making the food it truly was the best catered food I've ever had. 10 out of 10
