Many, many years ago, the foot long hot dog was the best to be found. The brand of weiner that's used now and longer than the bun tastes terrible. My visit to Nanny's while in the area was for the hot dog; so disappointed.
The service was good, and the owner was very nice.

I'm not handing out Michelin stars, but this place is great. I've been enjoying this local institution for over 30 years. The best chili dogs and fries around, maybe in the whole country. Soups, salads are also good. Even my vegan relatives find lots of choices. The servers are great, too. It's now managed by Manny's son, and he has continued the tradition of serving great food at reasonable prices. If you're not a good snob and you're in the area, you can't go wrong at Manny's.

I ordered from mannys Texas weiners on a daily basis due to it being so close to my job. 10/25 I ordered a Taylor ham egg and cheese online. I paid 7.77 online, but when I order in person it’s 8 something. I always over hear them saying in the restaurant “if you pay cash it’s cheaper” So when I picked up my food I asked this gentleman working the register and he brushed me off saying “oh next time we will check for you” Why couldn’t he check when I asked, I don’t know. 10/26 the following day I ordered the same thing online. Walked in and said to a lady “may I ask you a question” With other people around she says “do I look like the type to answer questions so early” So I proceeded to walk out and she says “oh I’m just kidding”
I don’t joke around when it comes to my money just like everyone else. I have worked in the customer service business for 15 plus years now and never displayed this type of behavior to a customer who shops at that store frequently. That’s how you lose business and unfortunately I will not be returning to Manny’s. Never felt this embarrassed before.

I’ve never been here before, so I wanted to try it out while I was leaving Home Depot’s across the street. There were two women walking in in front of me who immediately asked to speak with a manager. They spoke with an employee named Renee while I placed my order with another blonde woman working the register. While I was waiting for my food to go, I sat down at an empty table, and as I sat down one of the waitresses who was sitting down with a group of patrons turned and asked me “buddy! are you eating here or to go?” I looked and said you talking to me? She said yes I said to go she said you can’t sit there. There’s a table there’s a seat at the front. You can sit down and mind you if the restaurant is not busy there’s several open tables and then I said I can’t sit at this table and she said no you can’t you need to go sit at the seat in the front. I got up. Went to the register, waited for my food. When I received my food I asked the woman who told me I couldn’t sit at a table while a wait “ what’s your name, I’d like to leave a review?” She stared at me blankly for a moment and then continued to ignore me while speaking with someone else. I politely asked again to which she ignored once more. Then I went and asked her CoWorker, Renee. (Renee seemed very exasperated as Wednesday is not her shift and she doesn’t like the way things run on Wednesday. I know this because she yelled to Maria promptly after asking Maria not to speak to her with the tone she was inflecting in her voice.) as I approached Renee Maria rushed behind Renee and whispered loud enough for me to hear “don’t tell him my name. He’s trying to leave a review, tell him my name is - indiscernible whispers*. I said “ now she’s asking you to like to me?” Renee said she doesn’t want to get involved and I politely explained to Renee that this is the first time I’ve been to this restaurant and her waitress left an absolutely terrible fist impression. Renee exulted how delicious the food is. I said it may be but the waitress has left a horrible taste.
There was no apology. No accountability. Nothing to try and salvage the experience. Just terrible terrible attitudes. At this point the hot dog could be the best hot dog in the state and it wouldn’t matter because of the experience.

This place has been around for a long time. It’s packed on Sunday lunch time but no wait is needed. The garden omelette with added cheese tastes delicious with the home made fries. The chicken quesadillas is very yummy too. Great local family style dinner in the neighborhood.
