I mourn the loss of the old Proud Papas pizza. Time to find a new place - so sad as had been going here for 20 years…

they absolutely ruined my favorite pizzeria. cioffis has always been the worst pizza in union and since they took over the pizza is 10x worse and twice as expensive. go somewhere else. seriously.

Under new management, no more Proud Papa's Pizza 😭 Food is different. Cioffi's from Stuyvesant moved and took over/bought Proud Papa's. So sad. Will miss their pizza.

I have been a loyal and happy proud papas customer for many years. However, today was horrible. I believe there is new management (which is not mentioned on their website). I ordered a verde wrap (which I have ordered various times before) and have usually been satisfied. However, today my order came with very little fries (it looked like someone ate most of them) and there was so much liquid in my container that it made my wrap super soggy. I am very disappointed with today's order. I will try ordering one more time in the future but if that order comes out like this one, you have lost a few customers since I order lunch for my office a few times a month.

I came to the reviews to see if it’s just a bad day or if it’s the recent merge with Cioffi’s.
Based on other reviews it must be the merge.
Staff was ok but what the hell happened to the food?
This is NOT Proud Papa’s anymore.
Please bring the old food back, I see I’m not the only one who’ll miss it.

Proud Papas is the best. The food is great, never have had a complaint. Drivers are very efficient in deliveries. I wouldnt change them for any other pizza business in the area.

The pizzeria side of Cioffi's has now moved to the Proud Papas Pizza location on Chesnaut St. What was once good local pizza is now a low quality, bland tasting pie ($31). How can a family business put their name on a pizza with less taste than Dominos. I try to support local business, but when they trade quality and taste for profit, then my business goes elsewhere. We will no longer support Cioffi's pizzeria or Restaurant

Been coming to this place over 13 years, never had an issue. Today I call to place an order and get an attitude from some lady. If you feel bothered to answer the phone lady then this isn't the job for you, be well.

I just ordered my usual plain cheese pizza and a Alfredo with grilled chicken. I paid an extra $7 for the order. Also the top of the pizza was stuck to the inside of the box due to a bag of food being put on top. Also we would usually get 4 peices of bread only received one. They recently merged with coffi's due to their renovation. I will be looking for another pizzeria. The pizza also had a different texture and sauce was also not the same. In all the years I been ordering I was fully satisfied. Not sure if other customers have had the same experience.

Not sure what the Crotty lady’s beef is. Ordered anchovie pie, extra cheese, side of ranch, was delectable.

March 2025
They were under construction when I was here. The noise level was unbelievable.
They should have closed or did the construction at night.
Food was just okay.

I was very surprised to find what look like a simple sauce to be simply delicious. I cannot have cheese so I was kinda down ; but my surprise the meatballs were as large as by fist and as tasty as the delicious sauce it was served over. The amount was so large, I ate less than a fourth of the dish serve with salad bread and butter. I will certainly come here again.

I’ve been eating here for over nine years, and it’s always a great experience. Not only do they have amazing pizza and wraps, but Chris, who may seem like a tough cookie, has a truly generous heart. Thank you for your donation to the senior citizens—they enjoyed every last slice. You guys rock!

The worker is disrespectful. I place an order through THEIR site and was told they don’t deliver to this location but somehow the site processed the order. I then proceed to call to the restaurant to request a refund. The guys says “idk what to tell you, it’s a 3rd party site”. He had no sense of concern or showed sympathy for the fact that THEIR site and the link to the 3rd party site That THEY use processed the order. It isn’t my fault that the site doesn’t pickup on distance. Just disrespectful. I asked to speak with the supervisor the worker proceeds to say he’s in a meeting and I’m not bothering him with this situation and they he’s available tomorrow at 10am ! Like huh ???? I’m a paying customer. He didn’t direct me to the proper contact information I can use in order to be refunded. I’m very upset and a business shouldn’t be conducted this way. I’m a business owner myself I would never street customers in such a way. That worker was very disgusting.
