Tbh I have tried to give this place grace but the customer service is so poor. The lack of consideration and regard for customers, especially someone as consistent as myself is now at a point of insanity. I keep going back expecting a different result. I have called ahead for my orders only to still have to wait another 30mins+ because their timing sucks. The last time I ordered meat pies the day before, they confirmed and then told me the day of that they were not making them at all that day. This made no sense because I called ahead, and this is not the first time something like this has happened. This time I did the same thing, called a day ahead, confirmed that they would be making the meat pies, only for them to call me 8mins before pick up that the oven is broken. I had to offer a solution of taking the uncooked meat pies home myself, at a discount, to finish baking as I had ordered them for a family gathering. They agreed to let me take them home but still wanted to charge me full price. There were no apologies or accountability taken on their part. The person I spoke with on the phone claimed to understand my dilemma and offered to speak to the manager only to leave me on hold for 10 mins on two different calls. They still did not rectify the situation at all, no one called me for a final solution and I had to make alternate arrangements to get food elsewhere for my family. The food is good and I love the portion size, although sometimes the price makes no sense, but the service from top management to bottom staff is atrocious. I’ve referred so many people to this place and have sometimes had to apologize on their behalf for the bad service and lack of accountability. The food is not even worth it at this point. I will definitely be taking a long break from this establishment. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Went in craving suya and honestly I should’ve listened to myself and walked out. First off I struggled getting into the restaurant with my stroller and the woman standing behind the counter saw me and continued what she was doing. No acknowledgment/greeting/ or offering to help hold the door. Eventually she walks off and goes into the kitchen. On top of that they changed the price of the food right in front of me when I told them it didn’t match the price posted on their board. Literally got on a ladder and started changing the price menu. I didn’t even argue. I was completely turned off but decided to just order since I was already there. Well, the suya was incredibly dry and old tasting and this was around noon, not end of the day food (if we’re applying grace). Ended up in the trash.

We came here excited to try something new and left extremely disappointed. The service was poor, and the food was even worse.

We waited 55 minutes for our food—something that realistically could have taken about 20 minutes. No one communicated the delay to us at any point. We were only informed after we had already decided to leave, which was frustrating and unprofessional.

When we finally got the food home, it was unacceptable. The chicken was extremely tough, the rice was basic and underwhelming, and the plantains were nearly burned. For the wait time and cost, this was not worth it at all.

On top of that, the floors inside were very slippery, seemingly from oil, which felt like a safety hazard.

Overall, this experience was disappointing from start to finish. Better communication, food quality, and attention to cleanliness are seriously needed.

Waited nearly an hour for beef stew and stew chicken. Originally wanted to dine in but the meal took so long to make we changed to take out. The beef stew had 3 pieces and wasn’t tender at all. 2 pieces of chicken that was tough to chew. I don’t understand how chicken can be tough after a stew. Never going back and should have checked the reviews before giving this place a try.

This is so far the worst chicken suya ever. Today been the 31th Oct 2025. The owner is getting greedy and more greedy by the day. Increasing food price and reducing the food. It makes no sence if you decided to Increase price but have the decency of giving quality and quantity. Nothing in this earth will bring me back to this selfish, greedy restaurant ever again. I was the regular customer but today what they sold my husband was unacceptable and when he called ,they told him that their madam ask them to reduce the quality and quantity. Even them the sales boys and girls said the woman is been unnecessary greedy. Please guys avoid this restaurant with passion

The food is good quality, I love the Beef Suya. It’s always nice to find a Nigerian restaurant but their portions are on the smaller side. I usually order to go, and call 20-minutes ahead of time, sometimes I still have to wait another 15-minutes.

Food tastes good but was very disappointed with the portion sizes. Can not justify paying nearly $60 for.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Surulere suya spot, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of vibrant African culture—from the music to the decor, everything felt authentic and beautifully put together.
The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the jollof rice with goat meat, and it was cooked to perfection—full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. The suya was spicy and tender, just how I like it. I also tried the egusi soup with pounded yam, and it tasted like something straight out of a West African home kitchen. You could tell everything was made fresh and with love.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They took their time to explain the menu, made great recommendations, and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was okay.
If you're looking for a place to enjoy real African cuisine with great service and a cozy vibe, this is definitely the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing friends along. Highly recommend!
