Been in jersey for 7 years now. And I finally finally finally found a really great soul food spot. I got Mac n cheese collard greens and fried chicken. Yes the food is amazingly delicious you will not be disappointed. Oh and if you looking for ya meal to come out fast go some place else. Cause they make sure everything is fresh, you don't get fried chicken that sits under the hot light all day. You get fresh out the oil chicken..

Very friendly service. The staff patiently answered all of my questions with a smile. The food was delicious and served fast. I had the fish & grits and rum cake (to go). The waiter checked in often, particularly about food quality and if we had any needs. My only regret was only purchasing one piece of rum cake. I will be getting more next time.

We were on vacation and starving after a massage but wanted food food. Searched and found this restaurant. Everything was fresh! Fish and chicken fried after we ordered so pipping hot! The portions… so much food! As a southerner my heart was happy! Even every single customer that came in to get to go orders was just as friendly! Very refreshing. I’m not a fan of super sweet cornbread. That would be my only “complaint” but I still ate it lol! We appreciate the ladies accommodating us by staying open a bit later as we were dining in. 10/10 would come back!

My shrimp and grits was busting. My grandmother unfortunately was not a fan of the Mac and cheese and the greens were a disappointment to her as well. If you consider yourself a soulfood spot you would think they would have chicken wings. But unfortunately they only sell thighs ?. Either way I would go back for the shrimp and grits alone.
I just came to the reviews to see if they backed off with the salt, & according to the reviews they didn't. So I won't be returning at this point. The food is cooked correctly, it's just the overwhelming amount of salt not the flavor, if you can understand what I'm trying to say. I'm truly disappointed that I can't eat it again because of the salt, & my concern for my salt intake. I only use pink Himalayan salt in my house & that's only if needed, I had one small bottle crusher of that for like three years, get my drift ? & other than that I use M's dash & with other herbs & still have a flavorful meal. I love to support black owned businesses, but not at the cost of my health. So to each is own, because everyone has different taste buds. ♥️Parking: Nothing to say, there's plenty of parking.

This place is incredible! You must go if you want some delicious food! I had the fried whiting, macaroni and cheese, candied yams. Awesome! I'm sitting here eating right now. They are so nice and the decor is lovely with a nice atmosphere. It was definitely money well spent. I'll be back next week to try the shrimp and grits.

This mother & and daughter restaurant is not what I expected. The fish and shrimp was salty. The yams were overcooked, and to make it worse, the mother was not friendly at all. The place was empty, and I don't see this establishment lasting too much longer. I would not recommend this place.

I got the fried waiting dinner. The corn was delicious and so was the mac & cheese. However, the fried whiting was fried a little too hard and was just a tad salty Overall, I loved the flavors . I wish they had mashed potatoes .

First time visiting August 1st, I ordered the two thighs with shrimp, string beans, Mac n cheese, peach tea, and a side of yams. Ok so the shrimp was extremely salty, the chicken barely had seasoning but it was ok because the shrimp was so salty. The Mac n cheese was unseasoned and the string beans did not have any potatoes but they were ok. The peach tea tasted like powder tea and had canned peaches added.Staff was friendly and professional.
