Yama Japanese Restaurant

First the good stuff. The sushi was excellent. Really enjoyed both dishes. The service was excellent but it took a long time after being seated for anyone to come around.
Now some other stuff. First the restaurant is dated and really needs a redecoration. Even the outside sign made us think twice if we really want to go inside. The shrimp pad Thai was really underwhelming. Overcooked shrimp 🍤 and lacked in taste. Stick to Sushi 🍱

Small portions..rolls are good but they just seem smaller. Paid 52 bucks for 4 rolls they have a lot of fees.. 3% for usin card.. tried to hit me with 20% service I asked about it and they brought it down to 16%🙄

My Aunt who’s a local recommended this spot for lunch. Ginger dressing salad (not pictured due to consumption), Thai edamame, spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, and eel cucumber roll were all SO good and fresh. Will definitely be returning!

Despite the restaurant being slow on a Friday night, this had to be some of the best sushi roll and sashimi I've had. The sashimi (tuna, yellow tail, and smoked salmon) were among the freshest you could find at a Japanese restaurant. The service is quick, friendly, and frequent so you never feel ignored by your servers. Fairly priced and well worth it. I highly recommend trying Yama

This restaurant is the best place I have ever been to. It has good food and the service is really good too. When I first came here the food was yummy 😋.

Wonderful, casual restaurant with fantastic food! The servers are friendly and attentive! Our food always arrives quickly and is beautifully plated! My husband said the sushi is the freshest and most delicious he has ever had, and my shrimp teriyaki is always excellent! The menu prices are very reasonable and they have a lot of options! It's one of our favorite places in Ventnor!

this was such a sweet surprise to find! the food was delicious! we went for lunch, and had delicious green tea, bento box, 6pc of sushi, and potstickers for only $33! we will be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at yama, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening.

The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional.

Now, onto the food—absolutely phenomenal! , Godzilla roll perfection, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight. My companions also raved about their meals, especially the Wasabi tuna dumpling The ingredients were fresh, and the portions were just right.

To top it off, the dessert was a masterpiece. The Fried Ice Cream was the perfect balance of sweet and rich, leaving a lasting impression.

Overall, yama exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you're looking for a special night out, a casual meal with friends, or a place to celebrate an occasion, this restaurant is a must-visit. I will definitely be returning soon!

Been a loyal customer for over 20 years but something recently changed. My last 3 orders have been terrible.

Sushi used to be2 pieces per order, now it's 1. Sashimi low grade cheap fish. They forget chopsticks and soy. The Chef has to be new or following orders. Bye...
