We’re a group of hikers who meet every Monday to explore the Monmouth County parks — and lunch is always part of the plan! Recently, we discovered the Roadside Diner in Wall Township, which has undergone a complete refurbishment, and we were very impressed.

The food was delicious and received high praise from all 9 of us. This diner checks every box a great restaurant should:

✅ Super clean – spotless from top to bottom.

✅ Great food – fresh, tasty, and satisfying.

✅ Fair prices – excellent value for the quality.

✅ Wonderful service – the owner personally greets guests with warmth and enthusiasm.

We happily give the Roadside Diner a 10/10 and will definitely be back after future hikes. Highly recommended!

Work locally, great PEC sandwich. Have to U-turn around 33 which is a hassle during the week, weekends should be easier (no traffic) great old school. Brings back memories of ShortStop in Bloomfield IYKYK

This place was an awesome find. We’re in town for hockey and it’s always hard to find a place that can take a bunch of us. We had a little time in between games and we all just sort of ended up at the same place. I always feel bad storming a business, but they were so welcoming, the food was amazing, the service was top notch. Owner was super nice, great family owned place. 10/10 recommend. Please do yourself a favor and go support this diner!

My husband got the truckstop bowl, homemade corned beef hash and eggs over easy with toast. He raved about the hash and the coffee was excellent. I got the quesadilla with potatoes and the fresh tomato and peppers such generous helpings. We will definitely be back.

I love the jukebox that was my favorite and also the old time phone that was so cool to see you again. Wow you keep up the good work and will be probably seeing you soon down the road I would love to see what I’m gonna get next and you guys the most friendliest, most kindest staff and the sweetest people in the world enjoy and good luck to everything. We had a very awesome time with some special friends. All the way up from Texas (originally from NJ) and was delighted to have gone to a "real" Jersey diner. Nancy is a real firecracker and delivered great service and conversation. Still wondering "what she had to drink". Thank you Nancy!

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose The Roadside Diner for Wall Township, our 149th town.

Great food and service. We enjoyed some breakfast staples, including: French Toast, Steak & Eggs, Short Stack of Pancakes, and Bacon.

This place is a classic Jersey diner and one of the few that has the retro "train car" looking style. Located at the crossroads of NJ Routes 33 & 34, the diner was featured on the cover of Bon Jovi's "Crossroads" album (which was their greatest hits). One of our goals was to re-create the album cover and the staff helped us on a rainy Saturday when the place wasn't too busy.
