“Wow. We are on a road trip from Philly back to NY and my wife did a search for historic restaurants along the way. She saw the Walpack Inn and realized we would be in the area for the restaurant's monthly surf-and-turf offering. She was lucky enough to get a reservation for us. The meal was amazing: beautifully cooked prime rib, lobster tails, crab legs, some of the best scalloped potatoes I've had in a while, excellent sauteed green beans, and a side order of earthy mushrooms and onions. The bread is a treat. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The front of the lodge feels oddly underutilized, but the dining area and kitchen are lively and entertaining. This kitchen knows what it is doing; don't miss it.“
