I thought our food and service was excellent. We had to bring a pie home just to make sure they are the exact same pizza.

Menu was ok, food ok, service ok, could be very loud if crowded. Might want to wait for summer or fall To eat outside.

Been here twice now and both times I have loved it! Delicious seasonal cocktails and yummy food. The chicken parm sandwich comes on delicious rosemary bread and the pasta is good too. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the area.

We absolutely love this place, from the food, to the cozy atmosphere, to the friendly staff and excellent service. It's perfect whether you're here on a date, or for a meal with family or friends. If you don't want a full sit-down meal, you can always find a convivial gathering around the happenin' bar. The menu consists of popular Italian and American favorites like chicken, veal, pastas, salads, steak, seafood, burgers/sandwiches, and a well-rounded selection of appetizers. Nothing trendy but all extremely solid options and consummately prepared. You're greeted with a plate of warm bread and black olives when you sit down. The house wines are quite good and a gracious pour. (A wine shop attached to the restaurant is run by the same people.) The steak is perfection - flawlessly seared to my requested medium rare, and seasoned just right. I've also really enjoyed the fish and chicken dishes here. The tilapia is so tender. Even the sides are outstanding - I couldn't believe how good the sauteed spinach in the chicken saltimbocca was! And the fries are amazing - piping hot and crispy, and perfectly seasoned as well. We've also had the seafood paella which is full of seafood but more of a cioppino with its tomato-based broth than a true paella which has a dry texture, but is tasty nonetheless. We'll be back often to eat our way through the rest of the menu, I'm sure. A happy hour menu is offered from 4-6p on Tue/Wed/Thu. As mentioned, they have a great bar, and the changing seasonal cocktail offerings are delightful. The staff are warm and wonderful, and we were made to feel welcomed each time. Mike the owner came up to introduce himself the very first time we came here. You can tell they take care to know their customers, and seem to have a loyal local clientele (one of whom recommended the Tavern to us). Our meal was perfectly coursed - never rushed nor too slow. I noticed our server discreetly checking on us several times to make sure we were done with our appetizers before the entrees were brought out in impeccable timing. A small table lamp illuminates the menu without harshing the romantic mellow. The unobtrusive noise level means you can actually have a conversation without shouting across the table. These are details, but the sum of these parts differentiates a good restaurant experience from a great one.

My great grandfather took my grandma and grandpa to the one in Paterson in the 50s. This is the only known location I found when I travelled through town on my genealogy road trip. Let me tell you, the pizza was phenomenal! I don’t know what kind of crack you put in the sauce but it was delicious! We didn’t eat on site but it was an elegant establishment but the outside doesn’t do justice to the inside. Very posh looking! It was jam packed around dinner time- I can taste why!!!

Not impressed at all. Made a reservation for 7 adults and 2 kids. The minute we walked in I was told they were very busy and we had to be out in 2 hours. This was never said to me when I made the reservation. We were there for my husband’s birthday and they knew that. We ordered appetizers and then waited for them to take our order. All the while I worried we wouldn’t have enough time. The food was good. When we were done the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. I said yes and she said well it is 5:29. We were told we had to be out by 6:00. This was very unprofessional and very disappointing. We ate our desserts. They kept looking to see if we were leaving. We stood up and my daughter in law took the baby out of her high chair. She no sooner lifted her up and they pulled away the high chair. Very disappointed in this place. We paid quite a bit of money and should have been treated better. Will absolutely NOT be going back again
