Sad to hear of the closing, but instead of placing the blame on COVID-19, realize that the diner lost its business, legacy, and history due to this administration’s dismal reaction to the pandemic Blame Trump for its demise. His failure to act expeditiously, and hide the truth from the American public by claiming he didn’t want to ‘panic’ anyone is what has caused the closings of numerous businesses. One simple act, insisting that all citizens wear a mask, would have gone a long way to stemming the tide of deaths and infections. The selfish, ignorant people who insist that masks don’t work play right into the game plan of our selfish, ignorant president, refusing to listen to the EXPERTS who have dedicated their life’s work to understanding how to react to the pandemic, because as he claims, HE knows more than the experts. VOTE as if your life depended on it. Because it DOES.

By Rob Jennings | NJ Advance Media for NJ.comA Sussex County diner around since the 1960s has closed and its owner is placing much of the blame on the coronavirus pandemic. The Double S Diner in Wantage had set up an outdoor dining tent, offered takeout food and resumed indoor service before abruptly closing up Oct. 13.Co-owner Keith Yodice said business had fallen by 60 to 70 percent since before the pandemic in March.“We’re not going to drag a dead cow around anymore,” Yodice told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday.

Food was good but waitress seemed uninformed. Noone was there when we walked in. How did she not know the specials if noone was there??

One of the best diners in Sussex county!! They changed the menu a bit but never had a bad meal!! They used to have all these local memorabilia there from around the area with photographs and was lots of fun to look at but have since revamped the place and made it classier( kinda liked the old the style) but don't quote me on this but I believe they had a fire and had to redo it...the food is outstanding!!! The fries are out of this world with pulled pork(or something like that lol) eat there all the time...A definite must is must if you're in the area!!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!!

The grilled chicken salad was excellent! It was fresh and there was plenty of avocado in it. The coffee was perfect as well! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

It has improved since the last fire/ remodel. The menu has changed a bit for the better. However for the food it's a bit pricey for the layout. Wait staff was lackluster. Food was good no complaints with taste. Solid 3 star

What a gem of a restaurant! Double S Diner serves a refreshing change from the usual diner venue and menu. It ticks all the boxes on taste, presentation, service , quality and value. Dropped in with a friend for a quick dinner while waiting to pick up a friend from a nearby event, and enjoyed a great meal with outstanding service. Our server Mikayla(SP) was friendly and so professional; she handled a potentially awkward situation gracefully and quickly. The food was well prepared with fresh ingredients and very tasty. Portions are generous but not overwhelming, proving you can have quality and quantity. So glad we stopped in , and will definitely make Double S Diner a destination location!
