Went with a party of 5 in a torrential rainstorm on a Saturday night place was packed. The service was outstanding regardless of the fact that all dining rooms and all tables were full. We had excellent service one of my criteria for a good review is a clean bathroom the bathrooms were spotless. The menu was fine. Then the waiter gave us the specials and we all ordered specials from what I could see. Everything was delicious two of our party ordered veal chops, smothered in marsala wine and mushrooms 2 nice sized chops per portion,another had red snapper with shrimp and a fresh tomato sauce.another had a paella that was large enough to feed several people. I ordered a halibut in a white wine caper sauce. The fish was fresh, but to be fair it was a bit dry and could've used more sauce. Platters of sides were served family style a huge platter of yellow rice, a huge platter of mixed vegetables and another big platter of the Crisp potatoes that look like potato chips, that are regularly served at most Portuguese restaurants. everyone enjoyed their food and I took a great deal home with me,had lunch and dinner for the next day. I was not able to see the bill, so I'm not sure what it came to, but it was reasonably expensive. considering that the dining rooms were full, and even people were eating at the bar our food came out hot fresh, and with very little wait. I would recommend. I cannot emphasize how excellent the service was. We had traditional red sangria, and also white sangria, which was delicious.

My first time at this restaurant and it was great. Usually go to Ironbound but decided to avoid Newark and try a new location . The service was on point and the food delicious. Staff was very friendly and Manny extremely friendly and helpful . Definitely going back again. Plenty of parking.

Been to Villa Verde quite a few times over the years and it has always been good. Unfortunately this Sunday the food lacked taste and the waiter only paid attention to the regulars… overall very disappointed.

We had a wonderful night celebrating my sister’s birthday last night. We had 11 in our party and the food and service was outstanding. Artie and his team did an amazing job in taking care of us. I had and highly recommend the Shrimp in green sauce.

What a great place. Even though we live in the area, this was our first time there. Had lunch. Started with the shrimp in garlic sauce appetizer. Wow. If you like garlic & shrimp, this is a must try. This was the best we’ve ever had. We were first introduced to this appetizer years ago at another Spanish Portuguese restaurant and have always ordered it when at a similar place.Main entree was a stuffed salmon and pork chop in a balsamic sauce. My wife said the salmon was fantastic and the pork was excellent. My wife mentioned she really liked the vegi’s as they were fresh, not prepared from frozen.The staff was great. Friendly, courteous and attentive. It’s been a while since we’ve seen this since the pandemic.Keep in mind we don’t go out that often but when we do, we like to get the most from it without breaking the bank. Vila Verde definitely succeeded and is something to rave about. Will be going back for sure. Probably for dinner the next time.

I ordered a seafood paella. It was over 40 dollars for all the seafood and was told a half of a lobster.The lobster was tiny and didnt even have 1 claw. Three of the muscles were filled with rice and no muscle,I will never order from there again.

Top notch quality meal and oversized portions made this experience well worth the short drive from home!! Super friendly and attentive staff during my Valentine's dinner with family also was another notch on my list. I recommend the swordfish and french onion soup as it was a fresh catch of the day!!!!!!
