The quality of all of their food is consistently good. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. My kids spend a lot of time there and love Oak Deli!!! The owner is extremely nice and attentive so that everyone gets amazing service.

Okay so this place blew our minds. We're from California and stayed in NJ because NYC was too expensive. Oak St Liquor and Deli just happened to be around the corner so we took a chance. I kid you not, they had some of the best sandwiches I have had in my life. We ordered the fish sandwich (golden fried thick cod filet complemented with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and housemate tartar sauce, Philly cheese steak (classic cheese steak with roasted onions and peppers and cheese sauce), and prosciutto and fig with goat cheese (loaded thick stack of prosciutto, sweet fig jam, generous amount of goat cheese, and arugula). We also ordered coffees that were delicious. We didn't think we would stumble upon this place but we are so glad we did. This place wasn't in our planned itiniery but we will be back!

Guy working behind the register on 5/27/26 has some sort of weird authority complex.
My bf and I walked in this morning, guy behind reg goes “good morning”. I say it back cheerfully. My bf doesn’t say anything and the guy behind reg becomes irritated and repeats “good morning” louder like he’s a parent scolding a child for not responding. I in turn became irritated and let him know that I said good morning. Guy behind reg goes “I didn’t hear HIM say it” referring to my bf. He made things incredibly awkward so we left. Why would you try to parent a paying customer for not telling you good morning or making sure each and every person in the party tells you good morning? Very strange behavior made us leave.

This place took a turn for the worst. Not cheap by any means. $15 sandwiches. They skimp on prosciutto. More than once it was super old and tasted off. Also started using non sour dough bread, yet prices are the same. Won’t be going back

Great neighborhood spot, home made chocolate chip cookies are the best! Sandwiches are large, wine (and drinks in general) selection is great! Staff are fun and competent.

This place is wonderful all around. The sandwiches and the cookies are best I've ever had anywhere. I kid you not :-) The people there are super friendly and they have really nice outdoor seating. It's a local place and I love their sign which looks about 100 years old. Highly recommend this place! Looks like they got a great wine selection too.

I ordered a chicken Cesar wrap with chicken cutlets instead of grilled chicken and fries and payed $25 for it with a drink and they got the order wrong. Not the first time it’s happened too. I thought I would give this place another shot after 6-7 months. All I got was a chicken cutlet cut up with shredded lettuce. I would understand if you didn’t have romaine lettuce for a Cesar wrap/salad but I didn’t even get the dressing or Parmesan in the wrap. Fries were HORRENDOUS. Soggy and might be old. Food and service has gone down the crapper in the last year or so. Would much rather of made the trip to ventis in jersey city for superb quality food. Last time I go here. Would have went back to complain In person but I was already home.

Phenomenal hidden gem liquor store deli. Ordered wraps and salads from here and they were exceptional for a corner deli. Lunch or dinner this place is great.

The food used to be good. We paid roughly $20 for a french dip sandwich and the meat was inedible. It was thick, tough, full of gristle and not as good as in the past. We won’t be eating here again. Sad because the quality used to be so good. Very disappointed.
