The biggest scam. I just ordered a small pineapple cake which cost me $20. The cake was literally almost all frosting. It looks like a pretty decent size but when you cut into it literally half of the cake is just a mountain of frosting. There was hardly any cake in the center and absolutely no pineapple whatsoever. A complete rip off. I will never again purchase from this bakery again.

Ordered tres leches cake from a local restaurant and it was from Cecilia. I’ve certainly seen more authentic homemade tres leches in my time but idk something about the texture of the cake and the flavor of the icing worked perfectly. So simple and so good.

The cakes provided to restaurants have a horrible after taste, first I thought it was me but I tried it on 4 different occasions now from different restaurant and they all taste the same. Please stop putting so many unnecessary ingredients, it makes it taste horrible.

Stopped by as I was visiting a friend nearby. I tried the tres leche and dominican. Milke was tasting weird like aired smell, gross. Dominican cake frosting was ok, cake was very dry, guava was good.

I first visited this store in 2014 when I went to the United States for the first time to visit some relatives. I have Dominican family members who live in the area, and they suggested I try that bakery. I decided to give it a try, and I ended up going back several times. Every time I happen to be in West New York, I return to Cecilia Bakery; it has become a regular stop for me. The service is very kind and helpful, and their cakes are delicious. I recommend trying the tres leches, which is truly exquisite, and in recent years, they have added strawberry and pineapple variations that are also very good, but the classic always wins. They also make very good cupcakes. A few days ago, during my last trip, I ordered some simple Frozen-themed cupcakes for my little sister’s birthday, and they were incredibly soft and delicious. Please be careful and avoid this place. I went to order a small birthday cake a couple of weeks ago, i wanted the traditional dominican style with dulce de leched filling. I saw they had sliced carrot cakes in the fridge so i got 3 slices. My son went ahead and ate his. When i got to my slice a few minutes later, i noticed mold on the icing and side of the cake, not a bit, a decent amount of small spores. and my child had already finished it. I texted the place with pictures and they wanted me to bring the slices back, like im going to drive 40 min for that, you can clearly see in the pics. Whatever. Yesterday i sent my husband to pick up the cake since it was already paid for. We cut it. It's chocolate cake with a smear of filling, the cake is so dry, the slices fall apart. It's not dominican cake. They are using boxed cake. it's embarrassing a bakery can do so wrong. Please do not go there and waste your money. and if you do, please be careful when kids eat it. Not even a concern, sorry or discount. Also i realize now, it's not the same owners.-- After reading the reviews, it seems like a reoccurring issue, and they don't do anything except 'relaying the complaint to the chef' - what a joke. Mold is toxic. i should contact the food safety dept.
