Carlos the manager/waiter lied to our faces that the pasta is freshly made at the premises, when I asked to see a sheet of fresh pasta, he said the owner won’t allow it. Only three people work in this restaurant. We were fine with everything until he started lying about everything we asked for. I used to love this place. The ownership has changed. And the lying Carlo’s said the new owners name is Jerry. He wouldn’t tell me the last name of Jerry.Mr. Jerry: i am sad to say but if you have this man running your restaurant, you won’t be in business too long. He lied to us. He brought out fusilli and rigatoni pasta instead of what was advertised in your menu. And he had the audacity to say the pasta ingredients are all the same and the shape is just different. I should be refunded for this terrible experience tonight.

It takes a lot for me to give a place a bad rating . Service was bad as it gets ( this is the first time I have gone to the kitchen counter to pick up my own food since it was sitting there for 5 mins since the server was busy chit chatting at the bar , this followed by 1 hr wait while the restaurant was completed empty ) . PIZZA was mediocre was at best and then was asked to pay cash since the systems are down . THERE IS A REASON THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS EMPTY!!

Awesome place! Great location, amazing owner and staff. You can tell he has plenty of experience in the industry. Cheers!

Living in this community, I have no idea how this place has remained open: 1) First time we tried it, the pasta was significantly undercooked and another dish cold. Upon asking for the plates to be corrected, the owner responded rudely, as if we had offended him. 2) On another occasion, there was only one person tending to the entire restaurant (other than the “chef”. ) 3) On a day when it was supposed to rain, the skies were partly cloudy instead. Decided to give this place one, more try. Note that, since the second try we noticed an “open” sign added to the window. I assume this is because the restaurant is close to empty most of the time (we live in the community). Maybe this is a way for customers to know it’s open even though it’s most often empty of any customers?I digress… walked into the restaurant and the owner came to greet me. I asked if we could sit outside. He curtly said, “No.Why would I put a table outside only to have to bring it inside when it starts to rain?” My thought was… ‘maybe because you could use a customer? (The place was empty).’ He refused.I would rather drive 10 minutes than walk across the street to have to deal with that kind of attitude toward customers. Go try it yourself, if you must. But, I am sure you will be disappointed.

My new neighborhood favorite! Food was fresh, absolutely delicious. Staff was welcoming and kind. Super cozy restaurant with an intimate vibe. Highly recommend.

This guy doesn't pay his employees. Ask anyone that works thereCrazy how every bad review is true, and the owner showing his anger is just proof.Gerry Cerrigone is thief and i have no idea how the guy is still in business. So many public records if you take a look, I even see he loops in his family to get involved in his shady dealings. He has had so many great restaurants, I have seen all of them first hand, but man does he know how to rob innocent people of their money. Hard working employees, but he does not care. Bad food days happen in every restaurant, thats not the problem. The real issue is the poor staff that is probably weeks, if not months behind on pay, struggling to find a new job to get out of there. Its 2023 and i have no idea how people still get away with this.

This happened a couple of months ago and was honestly hesitant to share based on the owners threat to us. I placed a take out order ( a large order ) and upon receiving my chocolate cake covered in mold, and I mean covered, my husband went to take care of it with me behind him. The owner tried telling him it was powdered sugar, arguing for about 10 minutes before finally agreeing it was mold. He then told my husband “I don’t think you know who I am and what I’m capable of, don’t make a big deal about this”After reading some reviews of his other failed restaurants I see this is common business for Gerry cerrigone who was sued by his most recent business partners for stealing. Also the number of reviews mentioning he steals waitress’s tips is alarming. Avoid this place at all costs

Would give minus 5 stars if I could, food was mediocre, service was a joke, what really disturbed me was at the end of the night when me and my family had desert and asked for steamed milk, and I noticed the consistency of the milk was like yogurt and had a bad taste. I asked the bartender to see the milk and discovered it was expired for 5 weeks! How do you run a restaurant with a ranicd product lingering in the refrigerator ?! The Bar tender told me he bought the milk that day and blamed it on the store! I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT. We weren't offered any apology or discount, After we left we called and the owner said I could have charged you for the cake you brought in but we let that slide. How arrogant, dishonest and of the most horrible business practices in every aspect, this place should not be in business. Never will I be returning, I suggest you avoid at all costs. P.S the bar tender was also the owner ! If I didn't stop my grandfather and rest of family from drinking it we could have certainly ended up in the hospital with food poisoning !!!

Been wanting to stop in here for food for a while now and finally got the chance to! We started with the burrata and octopus which were both very tasty… my boyfriend had the skirt steak and he was impressed with the flavor, I had the ravioli which was also full of flavor… Overall the food was great and we would come back!

I decided to visit today again this beautiful restaurant. I really loved the great music option. I do believe it's from the 80s. As usual, everyone is nice and there for you to have a great experience. Today I tried squid with beans, potatoes, and tomatoes- it's a very delicious choice for your appetizer. Again I have decided to try the pizza, but this time I have chosen Margherita pizza. This place has a healthy option for unsweetened iced tea. It's a very good place to visit for dinner after work and have a glass of wine.Thank you again for a great time.

I wish the new owners best of luck and success. When we lived there, it was our regular spot for lunch and dinner. When I visited this week after 10 years, I was very happy to see Gioia open and serve excellent food and really good wines by the glass!!

I had very good experience here yesterday. Me and my fiance decided to check out this beautilful restaurant we always passed by on daily basis. We ordered burrata and truffle pizza with mushrooms. Also, we have aperol spritz for our drinks. Burrata was so good and fresh with yummy tomatoes. Pizza was freshly made.I also read the negative reviews about this place. I totally disagree with them. Pizza can take time because its freshly made. People, if you dont wanna have a good experience and for some reason you are grumpy as well, dont come here, leave your grumpies somewhere.I have a great experience and I will deffinatelly come even I have to wait for 45 mins pizza as the one of the customers described, becauseits worth a wait. For someone who doesnt understand the pizza made from scratch and wait, go buy american pizza made with a lot of cheese from a cheap restaurant and be happy then.People whounderstand the quality of home made meals, they will come to this place.Everyone was so nice and service was GREAT!They have a great menu option.I cant wait to try their pasta next!I strongly suggest to visit this place. Its very unique restaurant in West New York, NJ.

Lovely little place! Clean, average service, limited seating areas but ample seating available (came on a Friday night). I got the trofalini pizzette (love truffle anything) and my partner got the scamorza. Both were delicious, filling, and finished then and there. Easy to get to via HB light rail. Busy street so not much parking.
