Extensive amazing choice of sake, really well crafted menu. The toppings on each nigiri were so well thought of and complimented the fishes so well. Freshness and tastyness during the whole experience! Even the all you can eat portion was so tasty and fresh - tip: dont eat too much fatty tuna!! aim for lean tuna if you want to rack up big numbers

Sushi Hayashi is a refreshing antidote to the trend of wildly expensive NY Omakase restaurants. For $98 you get a creative 14 course Omakase plus all the sake or beer you want plus two rounds of all you can eat hotate (scallop), otoro (fatty tuna) and beautiful unagi (eel) -- really ALL you can eat. and the staff is welcoming and attentive.

Omakase is decent but feels a little rushed. Overall will recommend it

This is one of my best places for omakase and it’s also an all you can eat and drink!! Everything is included. Every bite is delicious.
And you can see from the video how nice and enjoyable it was 😆

This style of “unlimited” omakase has gotten popular recently in NY so we decided to give it a try. You get a 14 course omakase with 1-2 small dishes and a fairly basic variation of modern style nigiri, ice cream for dessert and all you can drink from 2 choices of sake. Then at the end you have 2 opportunities to order as many nigiri as you want from 4 selections: hotate, akami, ootoro and unagi. The fish were all fresh and high quality, and the rice was well prepared. I particularly liked their hotate and tuna cuts. The fish were unfortunately sliced thinner than usual for the price point, but I guess that’s a given to balance out the unlimited orders at the end. There is also a tendency to rely on blowtorching, which I think detracts from the taste of high quality fish, especially for ootoro. The sushi for the unlimited rounds did feel rather ‘manufactured’. Staff were accommodating and worked to entertain guests. The very bright and white lights and walls weren’t really to my tastes. Good value for money if you’re a big eater, otherwise I think there are better options if you want a more personalized and traditional omakase.

There are a couple of places in the city that do this AYCE Omakase style now, but I think Sushi Hayashi does it best! We've been twice and loved it both times. It is unlimited sake (Junmai or Nigori) and beer, and they are very generous with the pours.
After 14 courses (including some very interesting flavor combinations), you get two chances to order as many as you want of 4 types of fish. The other places I've been to only let you order once, and that creates a lot of pressure since you don't know how big the pieces will be (or how much rice will be included). While the unlimited pieces are plain and unadorned, unlike the 14-course, they are still very good quality fish and a great fish to rice ratio.
You finish off with some delicious matcha ice cream - some of the best we've had. The staff is very friendly and keeps a good energy throughout the meal, and you don't feel rushed at all either.
Highly recommend Sushi Hayashi, and I'll definitely be returning!

Went here on a whim with my dad and we were lucky to snag the last two seats at the counter for their 8:15 seating. The quality of the food was unreal and the staff was friendly. I will definitely be back! The price is great for what you get.

Went with a group of four for lunch service. We each got complimentary avocado plushies, how cute!!
Omakase was delicious, good experience overall. Fish was high quality. The ayce options were the best part! With four choices (fatty tuna, lean tuna, unagi, and scallop) to choose from, it allowed us to eat more.
Would definitely recommend to experience, but otherwise a bit of a splurge when there are other omakases in the city for a lower price.
