It is almost too difficult to even begin. When we walked in the hostess told us we can find any seat we wanted since the dining room was completely empty on a Saturday night at 8:00. Then after receiving the menu she told us that the lobster ravioli and skirt steak was unavailable plus a few other things. After ordering drinks we found out that they didn't have mint for mojitos, the Cabernet or the watermelon margarita. We ordered 3 appetizer, sending back the calamari after realizing that something seemed wrong about the place. We were about to order dinner before realizing we should just settle the bill and leave. The manager was extraordinarily rude and told me that the place was empty because it is the end of summer. This is Westfield, not a shore community. We finished our cheese assortment which was pushed onto our table and drinks before deciding to have dinner around the corner at Ferraro's. 16 Prospect looks like they are about to go out of business (seemingly for good reason). This location will be great for a true restauranteur to create another special place in Westfield upon the demise of 16 Prospect. This was a thank you dinner for our parents. But the thank you belongs to Ferraro's for saving the day.
The food came out cold and was mediocre. The music was loud and horrible. I walked over to the bar and there was a dank mildew smell that was too powerful for me to stay.

Only thing good is the service workers, they are very kind but the food is abhorrent and the vibes are weird

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. 16 Prospect isn’t a restaurant — it’s a hostage situation disguised as fine dining. The second I sat down, I knew I had made a mistake. The menus were sticky, the silverware looked like it had survived the Great Depression, and the smell hovering in the air was something between wet mop and burnt grease trap.
The food? Honestly, calling it “food” is generous. My appetizer looked like it had been microwaved straight out of a gas station freezer. The main course was somehow worse — the steak was gray, rubbery, and tasted like it had been boiled in tap water. The vegetables were limp, lifeless, and probably older than me. Whoever runs the kitchen should be investigated by the FDA and the FBI. Also I heard the two owners touching food with their bare hands constantly.
The drinks? Undrinkable. My cocktail tasted like melted ice cubes with a splash of nail polish remover. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used expired juice boxes for mixers. And they had the audacity to charge Manhattan prices for this dumpster fire.
The live music? Torture. Imagine a middle school garage band covering songs they don’t know, but crank the volume up to “my ears are bleeding.” It was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think, which was maybe a blessing considering I was thinking about how to escape.
By the end of the night, I had a pounding headache, an upset stomach, and a $100 bill for the privilege of suffering. 16 Prospect is where good nights go to die. Do yourself a favor: stay home, eat a slice of bread, and you’ll have a better meal than anything this place will ever serve.
I would give 16 Prospect Wine Bar and Bistro zero stars if I could. The moment I entered the establishment it felt like a basement rec room rather than a cozy bistro. The outdated interior design from the early 2000s remains unchanged and clearly demonstrates its age.
Our server vanished for an extended period before returning with incorrect beverages while the service pace remained extremely slow. He took so long that the dishes arrived at room temperature. The heat lamp seemed to have warmed my dish for thirty minutes because it lacked flavor and tasted stale. The wine selection at this wine bar failed to impress since it offered standard choices at elevated prices while serving my glass at half capacity.
The establishment reached its peak noise level which made it impossible to find any peace. The combination of poor live music and bar noise created an environment where relaxation became impossible. The experience at 16 Prospect left me confused about why people in Westfield choose to eat there.
You should avoid wasting your money at 16 Prospect because this place offers nothing but empty promises.

Unfortunately our experience was pretty disappointing last night. The appetizers were good, our burgers were flavorless and very greasy. The service was poor, with the exception of the young man that was waiting tables and the woman that was serving and clearing tables. The rest of the staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered. They were all on their cell phones, and the bartender was vaping behind the bar. Our waitress seemed to be bothered to take our orders and never checked in after that. We needed to ask another waiter for our check. As far as the live entertainment , he could have been better prepared. We were here a year or so ago and recall it being a much better meal and experience. As we sat, we were looking for hidden cameras and expecting Gordon Ramsey to come in and shut the place down.
The cocktails were very good. We ordered the mussels which were minuscule. We told the waitress she said she would speak to the kitchen. That's the last we heard about it. The shrimp were overcooked. The restaurant was pretty empty. But the service wasn't good either. Our bill was $100. They could've removed the $12 mussels but they didn't. The musician playing was awful. Probably won't return
Great food and vibe. Definitely returning

We ordered the calamari for appetizers and it was delicious. My friends both had the steak and they were either overcooked or rare. I got the mussels and each mussels weren't cleaned properly—I had to remove about 4-5 small white/clear balls on each mussels. Crunchy on each meat, definitely not edible. Desserts were great (we had red velvet cake, creme brulee and chocolate lava) drinks were good too. Will not go back here
One of our favorite places in town! Super cozy little spot with great food and awesome music at night. Our family frequents this place often. You should definitely give them a try if you’re in the area!

Small space, very cute vibes but food was also good. A little bit loud, but that is to be expected with love music. Wait staff was very attentive.

They need more help. Great place and food, but service is slow because management need to hire more waiters and waitresses. And I come here all the time.
Food was great drinks were great. The service was lackluster unfortunately I don't know if the person was new but we ordered a bottle of wine they brought it to our table open which is not customary. And poured the wine directly into a carafe without us checking the bottle. Service at the end we were handed a bill We were not asked if we wanted dessert or anything of that nature.
