Perfect place to celebrate our friends birthday. From the moment we walked in the door the service was gracious as it was throughout the meal. They were light heated not stiff, unintrusive but there when you wanted them. And the food, the food was marvelous, very dish. I ended the meal with a soufflé - so light and flavorful with a tiny pot of cream. We left Chez Catherine exhilarated. Thank you to all.

My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch.
It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant.
We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside.
Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. I love Chez Catherine! The service is phenomenal, from the moment you step through the door. The Dover Sole is outstanding! I want to order other things on the menu, but always come back to the Dover Sole. I highly recommend this restaurant.

2nd year celebrating my birthday at this jewel box of a restaurant. There are 2 gentlemen that handle all the tables. The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived. Service was a bit slow however understandable considering how busy they were. Overall, food is excellent. Our salads, entrees (chicken and tuna special) were wonderful and the blueberry souffle was beyond outstanding. The lobster bisque was somewhat disappointing (almost tasted burnt) and my husband did not enjoy the Baba au Rhum at all ($10 supplement). There are not many restaurants in the area with the ambience of Chez Catherine. I highly recommend for a special night out.

Absolutely exquisite dining experience. The restaurant is elegant and beautifully decorated- a true upscale dining experience in the heart of Westfield. The menu has some amazing main stays that our classic French cuisine. The highlights for us were the escargot and the foie gras appetizers. We opted for the four course dining experience that included a cheese plate. The cheese plate was very carefully curated and utterly delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It's definitely gonna be on our roster of dine again spots.

Like always, we had a wonderful experience at Chez Catherine. The service was impeccable and friendly, the food was amazing and prepared with care - the duck skin was perfectly crisp while the meat was succulent. The accompanying sauce was rich and velvety. The Dover sole prepared table side was fresh and the light butter/lemon sauce was delicious. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable. The owner Stephan is always charming and very personable. We reserve this for special occasions but will visit more often. A truly fine dining experience.
