Lately - the food at Hunan Wok has been really good! (after a few years of decline). I am not sure why it has improved - but overall quality is much better. Definitely back as my go to local Chinese take out.

Very polite staff, always a short wait for take out and very mindful of my wife's allergy. Food is typical NYC style Chinese takeout.

Fly in food cleaned food containers used to clean counters FLY in Shrimp fried rice food was hard and under cooked the part that I did eat before finding the fly. The worst part is they refused to give me my money back. Zero stars if I could.

Let me start with that this is not a review of their food. We have ordered from them many times. It's about their customer service. My daughter placed an order for delivery. When we received the order, a meal was missing. My daughter calls them to let them know we were missing an order. They apologized and stated they would have the meal delivered. No problem. Then my daughter gets a call back from the restaurant. The person calling stated that they will not be delivering the meal because they are certain it was placed in the bag. My daughter had the call on speaker and I told them that I am certain the meal was not in the bag. They asked me if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said yes. Spoke to a J. Carpio. He explained that they are certain that the meal was put in the bag. He said it was seen on camera. I said I will come down to see the camera myself and prove that the meal was not put in the bag. The manager agreed for me to come down. I go down to the restaurant and spoke to two ladies behind the counter. Again they said they will not be giving me the meal. I asked to speak to the manager. No manager on site. So they said. They eventually gave me the meal so I can leave, but I still wanted to speak to the manager who told me about the camera. It turned out there was no camera. The manager lied. I leave the restaurant. I later discovered that the manager was at the restaurant and never came out to the front. I get a call from another manager, Jao Gonzalez. He confirms there was no camera. That there was a misunderstanding. Not only that there was no camera, he was in the back when I stopped by the restaurant when I was there. I told him I want an apology from J. Carpio for alleging that my daughter was lying about a missing meal and lying about cameras in the restaurant. After that conversation, I get a third call from another manager, Angelo Sanchez. He informs me he heard of the incident and wanted to apologize. He offered to give me credit for a future order which I declined. I stated I wanted a face to face apology. He said that he would call me when he was at the restaurant. I never received that call. All three managers were asked for their names. All this for a $13 meal. They just lost my family as a customer.

Simply the best. Been coming here since I was a kid and other takeout Chinese places never compare.

Favorite Chinese food place around. Go-to is fried dumpling, beef & broccoli, crab rangoons, boneless spare ribs, and scallion pancakes.

hi ok. i'm actually chinese and i know what chinese food vs takeout chinese is. and the number of disgusting comments is making me enraged.i think you guys are forgetting what "chinese takeout food" is supposed to be like. greasy, yummy, and inexpensive.y'all are complaining ab the oil when the prices are at least half of a normal restaurant.if their food is not to your liking and you'd prefer traditional chinese food pop off and go to an actual restaurant ig this is an american restaurant with chinese style food not actual chinese food like orange chicken doesn't even exist in china what're y'all thinking i see in the comments that they're getting orders wrong and i understand that but i work at a restaurant too and sometimes there are a lot of customers?? like gosh sometimes i walk by and i see a whole LINE of people waiting in the shop. one time i came in for a quick meal and i saw a bunch of orders stacked. if you guys don't ask to have your order repeated back then it's on you. phones can be staticky and people can hear the wrong things. at the restaurant i work at i always repeat back the order but ig some people are just really confident at taking people's orders?? idk what they're doing but if they don't repeat ur order just make sure u ask for a repeat idki also saw a comment about complaining about two women exchanging words in chinese like bro yes this is america but it's a chinese takeout restaurant what do you expect and if u think they don't know a single word of english please get out if you're gonna walk into a chinese takeout restaurant what are you expecting??lastly, "disgusting food". 1) i don't even wanna say how racist that is and 2) this isn't actual chinese food. sure i've had their lo mein and general tso's a couple of times and it's nothing like what i usually eat but "atrocious"?? "horrible"?? "couldn't finish it"?? personally i eat chinese takeout food when i'm feeling like absolute s**t and it makes me so. much. better. y'all know that feeling when u binge eat on unhealthy food when ur angry or sad? ever hear of that "just ate 2 quarts of ben and jerry's bc my boyfriend dumped me " cliche?? or when u go to mcdonalds and just shove 10 packs of frech fries in your mouth? do u ever complain ab the oil?? no bc it's mcdonalds and they're SUPPOSED to have a lot of oil. chinese takeout food is exactly like that. sure if u wanna invite ur friends over for some NICE, FANCY, and AUTHENTIC chinese food go right ahead and order from an expensive restaurant don't go saving a few bucks at a chinese TAKEOUT restaurant and expect it to be beautiful and michelin-star worthy.you guys don't even understand what chinese takeout food and yet you guys are still ordering it. sure it's a quick bite like mcdonalds but y'all are expecting MORE and you guys end up putting it all out on the employees. if you come in with your order complaining ab the oil don't blame them blame urself. and if it's the wrong order MAKE SURE that you have the right order before you pay and leave. and MAKE SURE you have all of your takeout bags as large orders tend to be split up into more than one bag.overall, i'm disappointed. i expected to find wonderful comments ab this place yet y'all are treating them like s**t.i hope y'all actually find this comment useful and have a nice day!edit: AND REMEMBER: THE CHEFS KNOW HOW TO MAKE AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD. THEY'RE CHINESE, TOO. THEY'RE NOT BAD CHEFS. THEY'RE JUST MIXING CHINESE AND AMERICAN CUISINE.

I love this place or used to. Everyone but the one woman that must be part owners customer service is awful. She usually answers the phone and has a very horrible attitude, unfortunately that's why my family doesn't order from there anymore. It's a shame really.

Good food, good price. Biggest drawback is they forget items on the order or make the wrong thing sometimes
