Fish are brought in fresh from the Atlantic. Giant fishing vessel parks directly behind the business.
Tessa, suggested that I try Tilefish. It wasn't even cleaned or broken down yet. Came back the next day, it was ready. Unbelievable. Ordered it fried. Battered better than any fish I've ever seen. The portion was 4 pieces. Each was big & uniformly cut. Could only finish 2 that night. Ate the rest as leftover. Look at how bright white this meat is! Bought to go w/ a side of corn.
Ask for (2) of their homemade dill tarter sauce. Great meal! Unbelievable! (Enough to split for two 🤫)

The Blackened John Dory tacos and crab chowder were out of this world and service was excellent. Great place to stop. Does not look like much but don't let that stop you, it is a great place to eat.

I regret not giving them a five-star review because the service is exceptional, but the food is simply not up to par. Deep-fried food is one thing, but this was tasteless. We ordered fried fish sandwiches, which were utterly devoid of any flavor, despite being fried. I also ordered peel and eat shrimp, which were already mushy and should have been discarded instead of served to us. Also ordered crab cake an it’s burnt ! See my pic Ugh 😔 had to toss half of it. And it’s also fried. Very disappointed.

On the positive side, we’re glad we tried the restaurant, but the food was simply not good enough to warrant a return visit. I hope they read my review and take action to improve their food quality. If they do, we might reconsider our decision and come back. You never know, right?

This place was great! Simple, fresh, delicious and by the water! We experienced an amazing sunset during our dinner. The fish was off the boat. Literally. The owner was cutting filets of swordfish as we sat down! We started with the peel and eat shrimp. Ginormous! Yummy! I ordered seared John Dory and it was amazing! I have never had John Dory before and it tasted so good. Not fishy at all. It was served with a dill sauce that was super delicious. A great combination not only with the fish but with the French fries. I have celiac disease and everything I ate was gluten free. Billy, the owner, said they have a fryer exclusive for french fries and the oil used is fresh everyday! So no cross contamination. All kinds of fish that are prepared either blackened or seared are gluten free! Yummy! My kids had the crab cake and the fish fingers. They loved it. Crab cake was all gone. The Fish fingers dish was really big. Lots of fingers and french fries so my son couldn’t finish but he was really happy with it. My husband had the John Dory Sandwich and he was very pleased. Our aunt and uncle who are locals love this place and go there often. They love the fish tacos. The place is BYOB but they offer a variety of local Cape May wine bottles for sale. No wine by the glass though. Overall we had a terrific time with our family and enjoyed a beautiful sunset! We felt very welcomed and taken care of! Thank you Billy and all Hooked Up Seafood staff! We will definitely be back.

I went to this restaurant by the lake, and it was honestly some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Our waitresses were amazing, the chefs were interactive, and the entire place felt like having your own family-cooked seafood. Amazing, and I will definitely be coming again someday!

I got the fish tacos and they were kind of expensive but very good. I do recommend if you want something delicious and don’t care how much you spend

I hate writing good reviews about places I like because I don't want them to become so popular that I can't get a table, but this place was so good. The food was fresh and very approachable. There was something for everyone. If you are a true foodie get the seared swordfish (best swordfish i ever had!) but if you are just looking for a delicious meal the fried Flounder sandwich was a hit! It's BYOB so we didn't mind paying extra for good food. Staff was lovely and accommodated one person in our party who was disabled. It was fun to sit a big table with my family on the water! Lots of food to share! We had a blast.

Food was amazing and the service was perfect! We had a great lunch; fish sandwich which was a HUGE filet, fish and chips for our little guy, and two orders of clam strips. We couldn't have asked for a single other thing, just the perfect summer meal set against a dock watching the egrets and cranes fly by. The woman helping us was so lovely with great recommendations - trust her if she offers the dill tartar sauce! It was great on everything!

Oh my GOD! This is one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in my life. Sit on the marsh and enjoy the freshest seafood you could ever imagine. The only downside is that you could potentially be sharing your table with children eating crabs for the first time, pounding them to death with the mallet while you wait for your food. Food comes out as it’s finished, and ask the girls working the front what they recommend. We tried John Dory for the first time and it was AMAZING! if you’re in a rush, get it to go. If not, enjoy the view, watch the sunset, but you NEED to go here!!
