We've been coming here every season for the past 10 years. We went for our daily boardwalk walk and decided to get some lunch at the Original Hot Spot. WOW!!! Given the quality of their CLEANLINESS, UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Don't want to go anywhere else now on the boards except HOTSPOT. Their stove area (where we were eating our pizza) was cleaner than ALL other places I've seen on these boards!!!

This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was unbelievably slow and rude, the staff acted like they didn’t care at all. The food came out cold, tasteless, and looked nothing like what was on the menu. Drinks were watered down, portions were tiny, and everything was overpriced. The place wasn’t even clean the tables were sticky and the floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in days. I regret wasting both my time and money here. Never coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

One of my favorite places on the boardwalk. I stop each night for a slice of pizza.

Be careful they have their system setup to charge 4% surge charge per item and not total bill. When talking to the manager they told me they couldn’t do anything.

Nice people, but the food is poor. The old guy who owns it and his wife at the cash register, also old, didn’t even know what a pepperoni Stromboli is. I could only assume their faculties are fleeting. The pizza was stale. The Stromboli was cold. But thankfully their rookie level establishment led us across the way to Wally’s for one of the best pepperoni strombolis around. They even have it on their menu. Unlike this place. Pepperoni.

Absolutely disgusting. Over priced food, literally smallest pizza slice. Only Pepsi products and bottle water. Don’t waste your time or money

They are the best place to eat on the boardwalk. Asked other places about allergens in chicken fingers and they didn’t want to look. The owner at Hot Spot asked an employee to hand him a box of chicken fingers and he looked at the ingredients, let me see the box just to verify they had no dairy. Bought more food there because their gyros looked amazing and they were. Great people and a wonderful atmosphere.

Ordered a gyro sandwich and meatball sides to go. Girl at register quoted a checkout price that was higher than menu listing, and when asked why, she advised that 'to go' orders must be a platter, and when we advised that fries were not wanted due to dietary restrictions, she advised there's no substitutions. She was very indifferent. We paid due to time constraints but will not patron again. Also, it makes me question if they truly care about individuals with food allergies.

There was a quote in the newspaper where the owner claimed to say Gordan Ramsey has nothing on her. Hahahah what a joke, pizza isn’t fresh definitely from previous night gyro was burnt to a crisp. Save your self the time and just go across the street to Wally!

Expected average pizza, wings, mozz sticks, tenders. They were surprisingly better than expected.

I was super disappointed with this establishment, I came here because a friend of mine recommended it. I was shocked that the chicken cutlet hoagie I ordered, was more bread and lettuce than chicken. And it’s soooo over priced. I asked the nice foreign waiter if this was all they were going to serve me, and he said that’s how they serve the food. Utter nonsense especially for what they are charging. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It says they’ve been open for decades, with how they’re going I don’t expect it to last anytime soon.

My family preferred hot spot pizza over any other restaurant on the boardwalk. When we had family visiting we took them there for dinner before walking the boardwalk. We ordered pizza and bone in wings and we accidently received boneless. When we mentioned the mistake the women who took the order started to argue that we ordered boneless in an aggressive manner and would not back down. She then continued to come to the table arguing and produced our recipt from the transaction. In hindsight we should have asked for and checked the receipt but we never had an issue before. When we reminded her that the receipt reflects what she entered she then said she would pull video from the cameras. We agreed and asked her to pull the video, after disappearing for a short bit she came back and continued staring at the table but no longer came to the table. We returned the boneless wings untouched and left. We enjoyed the food but have no plans of ever going back due to the service. Edit The owner has reached out to me directly reguarding the service issue within 24 hrs of the review. I appreciate how quickly she reached out wanted to discuss the problem. Her passion for the restaurant and there customers really shows. We may have to reconsider going back, especially since we haven't found better pizza.
