If you’re eating there, please check your receipt. The business is automatically adding a service fee of 18% without asking the customer. This was the first time I reviewed the receipt prior to paying and noticed the fee. When I questioned the server, she stated that all businesses do that. This makes me question how many times I have been charged a service fee of 18% and left an additional 20% tip. The business should ask the customer first if they agree to the 18% service...read full review

Waka-Tay is a cozy and casual Peruvian restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The servers are friendly and attentive, ensuring your food is served promptly. The restaurant maintains cleanliness and efficiency, even during busy times.
The Pollo a la brasa, a grilled chicken dish, is a recommended meal, accompanied by a side of white rice. The green sauce, praised for its amazing taste, is a highlight. However, the aji, a Peruvian chili sauce, should ideally be spicy every time, following the traditional Peruvian way.
The restaurant's ceviche, a marinated fish dish, has raised some questions regarding the type of fish used. It is advisable to inquire about the fish before ordering.
Waka-Tay has maintained its consistency in food quality over the years, although prices have slightly increased due to inflation. The Lomo saltada, a popular stir-fry dish, is a customer favorite. The restaurant has recently updated its decor, giving it a soothing and authentic atmosphere. Soft Spanish music adds to the overall pleasant dining experience, making it a place worth revisiting.
