The Hew & Draw is an amazing hotel, events, entertainment and food venue. Staff and management are superb. Service is exquisite and their food quality and menu is 5 star. This is THE hotel to frequent if you are staying in Corner Brook, NL or looking to book your next business event or conference!

We had lunch as a party of four. The service was quite slow, especially the bar service, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The fish and chips had two fish fillets with heavy oily batter but the chips were crispy and tasty. One person had the smash burger with overcooked patty and raw onions on top. The bun was slightly burnt but tasty. For four entrees and four drinks it came to &130 (without the tip). Overall an ok experience, but not great.

We had an amazing meal there last night. The cheeseburger nachos were loaded with all the flavour of a great cheeseburger. They were a meal in themselves. We had the creme brûlée and the custard cake for dessert both of which were just great. Drinks and coffee rounded out the evening beautifully. I will say also that the service was quick and the server so attentive and pleasant. Thanks for a lovely evening.

I've stayed at the hotel dozens of times, and sometimes the service is great, the food comes quickly, and everything lines up.
The other half of the time it's either a wildly long wait / drawn out experience (couldn't help myself...) or substandard service from the staff.
It's a shame, because if the restaurant had consistent service it would be a huge plus for the hotel.
On days that I have timelines to adhere to I skip the free breakfast, because I can't be sure if it will take 25 minutes or an hour from start to finish.

This place is just WOW. A total gem - everything blew our minds - the atmosphere- sitting beside a real fire on a cold day, drinking delicious beer and eating phenomenal food obviously prepared by a chef - the arancini, fish tacos and street corn were all soooo good, along with the pumpkin bread pudding. But above all these amazing experiences- the service was outstanding. Vikki was attentive, made great suggestions and ensured we had everything we needed. Best experience in our 2 weeks travelling Newfoundland. If you have a chance to visit this place…GO!!

Wanted to go somewhere different for breakfast and we had eaten here before so we knew the menu and food choices. We ordered the baked beans, fish cake, eggs and meat. The food was good but not as I remember it. We did make a reservation and it was busy there. We waited 45 minutes for our food which was unusual for the restaurant to take that long. We weren’t in a rush so no big deal.
The real issue was the wait times at both breakfasts with only a few small tables (2-tops). - Waiting to be seated: 0-5 mins - Waiting to order: 5 mins - Waiting to get tea after ordering: 10 mins - Waiting for food: 45 mins - Waiting for bill: 10 mins
Total: ~75 mins (not including time to eat).
As someone very familiar with the culinary & hospitality industry, breakfast should be ordered and out of the window within 10-20 mins MAX (depending on the place).
Considering the relative simplicity of the dishes too, I could have walked in the kitchen, cooked up our two meals (and more) within 20 mins.
Considering we stayed here to visit the Western Brook Pond and check-out of the hotel (both time-sensitive events), don’t expect to be out in time. We had to ask for late checkout just sitting in the restaurant waiting for food.
It’s honestly astonishing. Either the cook(s) don’t care or something is wildly wrong in the kitchen.

There were six of us for dinner. All six enjoyed our meals. The Smash Burger is delicious. Two guests had the pan fried cod and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a large group there before us , like 38. For our wait we were offered a complimentary drink. Very kind of the restaurant. Our waitress was great!! Will definitely have the Smash Burger again.
