Off The Hook Fish & Chips

Stayed in deer lake for a night and stopped here to pick up dinner to take back to our Airbnb.

Ladies behind the counter were fabulous. Service was outstanding and super friendly. We ordered the 3 piece fish and chips for 2 people. It was plenty. Gravy on the side was superb. Fish was crispy and flaky and delicious. Homemade fries were perfect.

Best FISH and chips I've had in a very long time, highly recommend! The location is a take-out window with covered outdoor seating in an industrial park, but whatever, the fish more than makes up for it. If you are ever in or passing thru Deer Lake, dont' think about it, DO IT, and you're welcome. 🤑

I have been there twice for the fish and chips. The food is tasty, the portion size is great and the prices aren't bad either. They do not take debit card, but for most that is not a big deal.

I got off the highway looking for a quick bite and came across Off The Hook Fish & Chips — and I’m so glad I did. The fish and chips were some of the best I’ve had in a long time: crispy batter, tender fish, and perfectly cooked fries. I also tried the lobster roll, and it was amazing — fresh, flavorful, and generously filled. Didn’t expect to find such quality food by chance, but this place really delivered. Would definitely stop by again if I’m in the area!

If you're craving fish and chips done right, this place nails it! The food came out fast, piping hot, and perfectly crispy! no soggy batter here! The fish was flaky and fresh, the fries were golden and satisfying, and everything was seasoned just right.

What really stood out was the quality for the price. It was delicious and affordable, which is rare these days. Lovely outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back again.

I had cod tongues for the first time which were good. Being my first experience with them I have no real reference. They were heavily battered but still a pleasant fish flavor came through and they were tender. The chips were house made and excellent. My wife had the fish and chips which she enjoyed very much. Great spot!

Beat fish and chips in Newfoundland. On out trip tried 3 other places and we made a point to stop here again on our way off the island. Great taste price to quality is perfect. I recommend it. No a place for atmosphere just great food
