The Grounds Cafe

I want to recommend this place, but wouldn’t recommend it for anyone dining with a handicap person, elderly person , or a child. They have an obscure policy where you can’t sit without food, even if there is somebody ordering it for you. We had to leave because our lunch companion has mobility issues couldn’t stand in the line. She was seated at the table and booted to make way for somebody with food.

We had a bit of a wait to receive our food but the wait was absolutely worth it! the black bean burger was amazing! probably the best non meat burger i’ve had yet! and the fries were seasoned perfectly. The staff were kind and all had smiles on their faces. i already cannot wait to visit again! this cafe is seriously worth checking out!

We have enjoyed many restaurants during our 10 days here in St John's. So far we have been back to The Grounds 3 times!!! Make the drive you won't regret it!!
Amazing food and service. Greenhouse would be lovely in the right weather!

Ok, truth, love breakfasts and we wound up eating here 3 times. Coffee was flavorful, loved the quiche ( crust was to die for) and my wife said the same for the breakfast bagel . Seems like whatever is on the menu would be amazing!!

The Grounds Cafe is a fantastic spot for breakfast or brunch. I find that the place is bright and spacey however, seats are limited. They have a small menu but they're all delicious with fair prices. The staff is friendly however note that this place is a self serve kind of place, so you'd have to clean up your own table, especially if the previous diners left their own dirty dishes. Not sure if that's suppose to be like that but regardless we had a great time in this restaurant and we'll for sure to come back when we can.

I really enjoyed this one-of-a-kind nature-themed restaurant. Every dish was incredibly fresh, and the taste of all ordered items was excellent. In the summer, you should definitely visit the garden they have behind the cafe.

Loved the spacious cafe. Lots of light. You don't feel rushed and can linger over coffee with a friend or reed your book.

Great cafe to grab a coffee and a healthy meal. Love that they grow a lot of the ingredients right there. We always come eat here now when we visit St. John’s.

I love going here. The food is delicious, as is the coffee. It takes a short while to get the meal, but it's not too long a wait. They bring it right to your table. Water is self-serve, from a container where the coffee station is. Desserts are delicious, too.

The atmosphere is really nice -- plants (as you would expect, given its location), nice seating, airy venue, relaxed, nice people. When you're done the meal, you can wander the greenhouses and feed your plant addiction (which I am fully into).

Washrooms are in the plant areas across from the restaurant.

Parking: No problem getting parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible. On ground level and no steps.

This isn’t an amazing café had the breakfast sandwich probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had and my wife had the salad which she also said was one of the best salads that she ever had atmosphere and great staff with great service you won’t be disappointed

I had the chilled noodle peanuts bowl with tofu. It was great! Veggies were fresh and it had great flavour.
