“A great selection of cookies, sweets, varieties of breads and ready prepared meals. While the cookies were okay, the breads were fantastic!! The loaves are big(tall), firm but light. The staff was friendly and engaging and able to answer product questions without pause. I look forward to my next visit to try some other breads and prepared meals.”
“I'm not a huge fan of fish and chips in general, but I've taken it upon my self to try as many fish and chips places around St. John's as possible to see if I can find one that I like. This is by FAR the best I've had. The fries are good, but the fish is tops. The batter is so crispy and almost has the texture of a cheese puff. The fish is incredibly tender and soft. And the location is incredible too. They only take cash, but have an ATM.”
“The food was excellent, great portion sizes. I had the fish with fries, dressing and gravy. Also tried the onion rings, All the food was Very tasty. The staff is friendly.”
“Exceeded expectations. Huge serving and delicious. Complementary cup of vegetable stew and a herbal tea as soon as I was seated. Will definitely be back. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-03”
“I love this place! The food is delicious, the ambience is cozy and inviting, and the service is attentive and kind. It is a feel-good experience all around! I had the tenderloin kebab and it was divine. 10/10 recommend! I will certainly be back! Everything on the menu sounds and looks so yummy.”
“The musical atmosphere was too dominant: it was difficult to talk to each other. Otherwise everything was very pleasant and we will return to your place, but perhaps we will ask to be seated away from the speakers.”
“Excellent fast service, top quality food, beautiful relaxed safe atmosphere, wifi available, comfortable seating friendly staff. I recommend. the poutone was a large serving as well, it barely fit into the box, Thanks!”
“My fav restaurant in the city. Amazing for delicious authentic Mexican food and also for treats and a large variety of grocery items! They have convenient pre made meals which are perfect for anyone on the go or on a lunch break! Their rice pudding is to die for! To top it all off, the service here is the best. Some of the most kind and accommodating humans.”
“Nice quaint little cafe with a pretty view outside! loved my cortado, super tasty espresso! and the bagel with salmon was also really good. Customer service was excellent! I would make this my regular coffee shop if I were from here! :))”
“My absolute fave spot in St. John’s. Very affordable. Great service. Inclusive and welcoming space for all. And the first spot I bring friends from away toAlso def get a custard cone”
“Classic Cafe Duckwoth St, St. John's is a real gem. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and great service. They serve a NL favorite Toutons, ps. They are huge, they also serve fish n brewing and fish cakes as well as all the regular breakfast favorites.”
“Always going above and beyond their services. If you are looking for authentic Filipino infused with Canadian taste food and excellent service, highly recommend Sinaing.”
“Rj Pinoy’s is a restaurant I recently discovered and easily a new personal favourite! The food is is very good and is always piping hot. The portions are also quite large. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the building is noticeably very clean. I would 100% recommend this place if you typically enjoy Asian food! ?Kid-friendliness: They only have two official child meal options but they offer non spicy options though out the adult menu and the adult portions are more than enough to share.”
“Yummy doesn't cover it. The deserts here not only look amazing but are a delight to the taste buds. Well worth the price for the taste and enjoyment. The hardest part was choosing only 1 item. Haha that didn't happen as I left with 6 delightful treats for my family. Walking distance from the bus stop. Easy to access parking. Roomy and light atmosphere.”
“What a great place! The man that runs it is fantastic, very nice and accommodating. The sushi is in my opinion a step above anything else you can get on the island. 10/10 would recommend”
“Best cinnamon bun I’ve had in ages. Delightfully light and crispy croissant with the acidity from the blueberries and the sweetness from the cream was a wonderful combination. Friendly staff, definitely not judgmental considering I walked out with about 10 different pastries. lol… but they are for sharing, and sharing is caring …. However much I just want to eat them all.”
“Chinched is a special place in St. John's. It delivers an amazing dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The menu prioritizes local ingredients while bringing world-class bistro vibes. We were there during the Chinched x Rabble pop up.The attention to detail extends beyond the food, with attentive bartenders and friendly service that enhances the dining experience. Chinched is more than a restaurant; it's a St John's culinary experience”
“Absolutely outstanding Ethiopian food. Flavourful, spicy and very satisfying. Price and portion are great. I have eaten Ethiopian in Toronto many times, this is far better!”
“I know this isn't the most up to date of reviews, but I visited The Ship several times when I was in St. John in about 1993 and still have fond memories of it being one of the friendliest pubs I have ever been to.”
“Best sushi in town! Good bang for your buck, However every time I order takeout I never get the spicy mayo that’s supposed to be on the “spicy rolls” which is honestly a big reason I get it.”
“Always amazing service and food. Excellent with kids and affordable prices with the amount of food they give and the quality is amazing.if your having a hard day the servers there will make it better with there smiles and attitudes. You never leave hungry plus they make all there food gluten free if you need it with still the same great taste”
“This is a message, not a complaint, but this is my go to place for bubble tea. However, lately their quality is dipping, got a couple of drinks with brown sugar bubble, they were rock hard. Plus, their memberships gave us something to save in terms of money, but now not that too. Getting too expensive.”
“I had a great visit yesterday. I needed a little pick me up. I ordered the mocha latte, and a cheese danish. The food was great, the workers were friendly. I followed up with a great little stroll around bannerman park.. 10/10 would recommend. :-)”
“One of the best places to hang out if you want to enjoy some local atmosphere and get a custom drink. My favourite here is their Chai latte, taking a sip while watching traffic out is truly heaven.”
“This gem situated near Sheraton Hotel is a fun and cool place to hang out with friends or hustle alone. The staff is friendly. The fried tofu and drunken noodles are one of the best here. Besides, they serve glorious light roast coffee.”
“It was our 1st time at Piatto. Service was fabulous. Food was pretty good. The noise level was quite high with music level pretty loud. It was difficult to have a conversation over the noise”
“Great authentic baked products. Electronic payments? The cat sitting on the floor is maybe an authentic touch that could be reconsidered. Overall for bagels and bread cannot be beaten.”
“This is exactly how I pictured my Newfoundland Fish and Chip meal would be. The best fish and chip I've ever had. Service was great and friendly. Loved the atmosphere of the place. If I'm ever back here in St John's it'll be my first stop. Even beats a walleye fish fry shore lunch.”
“During our trip to St. John’s we went to this restaurant 3 times. Everything we had was delicious and big portions. Friendly staff, especially Tina. Very nice eclectic style. Would recommend, especially for Brunch.”

“Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids!Wheelchair accessibility: NOT wheelchair accessible. Parking isn't great for accessibility concerns either (big step up onto the curb).”
