“I ordered the Whale burger platter. The burger was outstanding. Cooked perfectly, the toppings were exactly what I like. They added a little spice to really bump up the flavour. The homemade fries were the best. Nice and hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. My friend had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh with a nice light crispy coating. My friend thought it was also outstanding. This was a great find on our trip through Newfoundland!”

The seafood chowder I bought was not the best. Had multiple bones/scales? Or some part of the animal in the soup. I poked my mouth 3 times while eating and then just decided I didn’t want it anymore.

The soft serve ice cream in a sugar cone is a must!”

“If you are looking for an amazing cup of coffee might I suggest Java Jacks Blend. We have been in the area for a few days now and I think I have worn a new path from where we are staying to where they are located. While enjoying your coffee take a look around at some of the beautiful locally curated artwork, soaps, and jewellery I promise you, that you will likely end up leaving with something else (a bag of brew, some baked goods, and soap are just a few of the items in my car now). To top it off the staff are very welcoming and kind.”

“The food was excellent, the service however was not. Had to ask for silverware, the servers didn’t offer drinks, they never returned to the table to see if our meal was ok or if they could get us anything else. One of the servers spent her time sitting in a corner talking to an elderly woman while dictating to the other worker that “ur gonna mop and I’ll vacuum, ur gonna do dishes while I restock the muffins”. The poor girl who was doing the work behind the cash and serving deserved her tips that day.”

“I've had fish n chips a half a dozen times while exploring NL. Gotta say that all things considered, Jackie's was the best. Gonna stop there one more time before we leave the Rock.”

“Was there on August 15th for supper had the spinach and artichoke dip for a starter and for my meal I had the fish tacos,which was absolutely delicious would totally recommend this restaurant…kudos to the staff and everyone who works there..cheers 😊”
