Hotel with a restaurant on site should be a welcome bonus. Menu looked good, prices on the high end of reasonable. From there it was downhill. My stuffed chicken breast was awful. Kid’s meals and other menu items were passable at best. Didn’t realize a party of 6 automatically has a 15% tip added. That’s fine but when paying, the first prompt is for a tip and had to go to front desk to have it reversed. FFS. Stick with DoorDash.
This was not a great experience. The food was not good. Service was alittle inattentive. The kids both had pizzas, and because they ran out of pepperoni, they asked if it was OK to put ham on one. That was fine. The pizza actually had the most dried out old pepperoni they could find on it. Turkey soup was lukewarm, and still had the slubby turkey skin in each of our bowls. And 2 bites in we both found bones. And only for the overpowering celery taste....there was no other flavor. Served in a shallow bowl that was impossible for spooning up. Worse soup I ever ate. Served with a roll that was as hard as a brick. We also had plain chicken wings. They were fried to within of its bite ability without cracking teeth. We ordered door dash for supper which was disappointing with a restaurant right on the premises.
Not a place to dine out. Dining room in a noisy lobby when busy. Food is sub par. Eat here during stays only.
Where do I even start. I was placed in a lounge chair to wait for an available table. After about 10 mins the waitress took my order (burger and poutine) despite me not having a table yet, which I was fine with. After about 20 mins a table opened up and I moved. At this point my drink was long gone and noone had asked if I wanted another. About 20 mins after seating at the table she finally came by and asked if I wanted another drink. Another 20 mins passed by and I decided to go to the bar and ask if they had an ETA on my food to which I never got an actual answer. Another 15 mins passed by and I went up again to see if they had even started cooking it yet as I was going to pay for my drinks and leave. She said she was going to check and came back several mins later and said it was just put on and would be ready in 10 to 15 mins. So around 1.5 hours after placing my order they only just started to cook it. 2 hours after placing my order I finally got my food. Once I was done eating it took almost another 20 mins for someone to finally come and let me pay my bill. The burger was pretty good but I can say with absolute certainty this was my first and last time eating here. DO NOT go here unless you have HOURS to lose. The waitresses were very polite but that does not make up for how avoidant they were steering clear of peoples tables knowing full well everyone had the same question: Where's my food? There was an extremely drunk guy there going all around the place that they kept serving more liquor to. He was sitting at peoples tables and at the end of it even started cleaning up tables trying to hurry things along as he had been waiting even longer than myself for his food. As for compensation for the extremely long wait and having to put up with this drunkard repeatedly sitting at my table they took a meager $4.80 off my bill. By far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. As I said I will NEVER go back to this place.
Food was good but the service was non existent. Both times there the waitress were over 45 min taking your order and then you could not even get them to come back for a bill. Ended up leaving without paying for the second meal because despite trying for over an hour we could not get someone to come to the table to bill us out or any staff to hell with the issue.
Great food, highly recommend a Caesar salad and the flatbread pizza!

Lovely restaurant with a delicious gluten-free burger (the Amelia burger, with a GF bun) and the best bacon-wrapped scallops (also gluten free) I've ever had. The server (Kim) was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable about celiac and concerns about the potential risk of cross-contamination with wheat flour. Strongly recommended! ??? ?
Dietary restrictions: Was knowledgeable about celiac and had a few gluten-free options listed on the menu.

Ordered fish burger and Caesar salad , salad was delicious but fish was over cooked, batter too thick Glass of wine was overpriced. Service was great and it's a beautiful atmosphere. Would go again .
Food was good, scallops were delicious! Service could be improved, I had to ask several times for my drink to go with my meal, and never did get it. And then the same for a take out order to bring back to my room.

The food was very good, portions were plentiful. Service very friendly. If there is a lot of traffic, you may have to wait a little longer for your food at breakfast.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant, going there for Father's Day breakfast with my family.
We were not disappointed. A relatively small menu, but certainly enough of a choice.
The portions were very generous and price was very fair, especially considering the portion sizes!
Friendly service. Large, open, comfortable seating.
I will definitely be going back again.

Friendly staff, but food is just ok. I ordered a Ribeye Steak but wasn't that good, need salt and paper, also, has a bit sour taste. I asked forgravy, wasn't good. Mash potatoes are not recommended ? missing taste. Good point of the dish was only vegetables??.
In general, price and quality don't match.

So disappointed with our experience at Amelia's. Very slow, unfriendly service. This was our first day in Newfoundland and we were so looking forward to having some east coast fish and chips but unfortunately they were way over battered and over cooked. Too bad ?
