Ches's Famous Fish & Chips

Went downhill a few years ago when taken over by a different person or people. But today, it was as Chad’s use to be. Absolutely delicious.

One of the best Fish and Chip shops in Newfoundland. The food quality is excellent and consistent from one day, month, year or decade you visit. The service is always friendly and attentive. I'd rate it higher if the atmosphere was a bit less casual (if they had the atmosphere and seating like a Swiss Chalet, and some local beers on draught I would definitely give it 5 Stars. Otherwise, geat food and great value!

So disappointed. Received 2 rotten chicken wings and when I called and all I got was ohhh we'll look at that...no bring them back for a new order nothing....here visiting for a family funeral and couldn't get a decent meal. Do better cheses

We walked in originally planning on eating in. They told us to go find a table, but all tables the free tables were dirty and not cleaned off. It didn't seem that busy, but they still had not cleaned any tables after another 5 minutes of us standing in restaurant awkwardly. We decided to order take out instead. The fries were soft and all the food (fish, chicken, fries, onion rings) were completely flavorless, unseasoned, and greasy as all hell. The only thing edible was the gravy. They did not provide any sauces or condiments. Maybe we should've asked for some but I normally expect food I buy to at least be edible without extras. Very unimpressed

We are so glad that we spent 4 weeks with a wonderful, friendly, professional and cheerful team. Many people have been working there for many years and we understand why. After all, the owners treat their employees like family, care and always ask if everything is okay with them. Thank you guys so much for everything!!! See you soon!!!

Avoid this place. Greasy fish and fries, tartare sauce in packets. The fish was tasteless. Also very pricey spent 54$ for 2.

I ordered the 3 peice chicken tenders and fries. And the 3 tenders were so small it isn't fit. Every time we order from there it's always for 6 people and the cost of it is never no less then 85 bucks. For what we paid ya think we would get bigger portions..
