My husband, sister-in-laws and I got Screeched In by Skipper Lukey. He was INCREDIBLE!!! He was knowledgeable, friendly, entertaining and funny. Worth every penny. We even got a certificate to prove we did it 🤣 If you are looking for a true Newfoundlander experience, this is the place to do it.

Kissing the cod, isn’t so bad. As one girl we met said “I have kissed much worse on George Street” and even the Screech was better than expected. The gourmet bologna impressed, as it did Anthony Bourdain.
If you are not yet an honourary Newfoundlander, this is where to make it happen!

Christian's is always a good time, on my first visit to Newfoundland I came here to get Screeched, it was such a good experience and great atmosphere. The only downside and it's really not a big deal, they don't sell food, but you can go to the bar next door and grab takeout and bring it back to the bar with you.

Had the most amazing, fun night at Christian’s!! Got screeched in and Brian was charismatic, fun and welcoming. The screeching in ceremony must be experienced, you will not be disappointed by the creative way Brian invites you to become a “honorary newfie”. The bar has a cool vibe and all at the bar were friendly and chatty. An absolute must if you’re in St John’s! The fun never stopped! Thanks Brian for the experience!
