Just wanted to take a minute to share my experience(s) at DESI MEAL restaurant.
I’ve been eating at Desi Meal on Elizabeth Avenue for over 5 years now. I’ve never ever had a bad experience. It’s always so delicious, fresh, and consistent.
When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I was worried I’d never eat there again but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that, not only do they have gluten-free options, but it has never made me sick and the owner takes it seriously, always noting it.
The owner’s name is Shaheen and she is the warmest, kindest woman you could ever meet. She always asks me about my day and how everything is going with school or work while I’m there.
They are a small restaurant open daily for regular menu orders (with extremely reasonable prices) with a lunch buffet until 3pm on Thursdays and Fridays right now.
Do yourself a favour and pick up some Indian/Pakistani food from Desi Meal. You will not regret it!

The food is always very fresh and full of flavor and the portions are very generous for the price!

This is a specialty grocery store, with a dining area on one side. Their food is authentic! If you want to experience a different culture, without traveling half way around the world, you should try this place. 😊💕

Definitely the worst desi restaurant in St. Johns. I got burnt food a couple of times. The service is really bad too and so is the pricing compared to the other desi restaurants. Th quality of the food is way below average too.
