I came here the morning of my wedding for a breakfast reservation with my groomsmen.
The server was so rude it made me laugh several times. I was actually shocked by her reaction to some things. My father asked for eggs over medium and was made to feel ridiculous as if that was not a thing. My brother in law ordered a breakfast sandwich, he didn’t specify a type of meat in the sandwich. The servers response after he said he wanted the breakfast sandwich was: “And?!?!?” That’s all she said lol.😆 I had to tell the poor guy she was wondering what type of meat he wanted! It was a couple of weekends ago now, and I’ve just thought to leave a review now. Honestly my sandwich was awesome and I have no complaints about the food. Nice menu. Beautiful view. But whoever served us that day needs to find a new job or a new attitude.

We really enjoyed our dinners at Gian's. The gentleman server was really friendly and attentive. The fish and chips were delicious. The club sandwich was really nice as well! Wonderful views while you eat too!

Food was just ok, not bad but not good enough to visit again. Had 2 cocktails as well, which were at the same level.

We stayed at the Marriott for several nights while in St. John's. Although we went out for a a couple of nights to eat, we ended up having dinner here at the hotel in Gian's Kitchen for 3 nights when we realized the food was just as good, if not better, than what we were having at other locally recommended establishments. The menu is varied with different cultural flavours. I had the pan fried cod on first dinner and second dinner was cajun chicken and mushroom pappardelle both so good! My last dinner here I had the lobster which was delicious! A lot of items are locally sourced, like lobster & seafood of course, breads and baking too. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I always like to stay somewhere where I can just go downstairs and have breakfast. Knowing that the dinner menu is so enjoyable as well is a bonus! At the end of a long day if you don't want to leave the building, you don't have to, just come down to Gian's kitchen and enjoy! If you live locally and are looking to go out for dinner, I highly recommend you give them a try.

We had lunch there today, the Kway Teow was excellent. The last time I had Kway Teow so good was in Sarawak, Malaysia. We will definitely return.
Love the pad Thai here! Scallop was super tiny (like a quarter coin), not worth 20+ bucks. And seafood chowder was very thin, and the main ingredient is carrots.
Terrific atmosphere, excellent food and service! Hoping to get back in a few weeks!
This restaurant has a perfect harbour view with this scenery perfect for our coastal themed wedding. Not just that this place represents the beauty of Newfoundland. The bar inside is so classy and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the chicken cordon bleu, roast beef, the spring rolls and the very tasty fried rice, etc. Oh wow must try and our guests who had the Chef’s green salad said it was some good were all delicious! We had 50 guest buffet style set up. All were served hot and we got a lot of compliments on the food. The drinks were incredible and the bar service was fast. Everyone was so professional, accommodating, easy to work with, and great at their jobs. Finally, our wedding wouldn’t have come together without the hard work from the Gian’s Kitchen especially to the owners Kuya Nato and Ate Angellete. Thank you Gian’s Kitchen our wedding was perfect! 🙂
Ate here 4 times in the week I was in town. Two breakfasts that were ok - good, then 1 night a bowl of chowder that was same. Then I invited friends to supper and a lot of restaurants were closed for holiday. So the 4 of us ate here 2 of us ordered the ribeye(med) with baked potatoe. The 8 oz steak was cut VERY thin and ended up being well done. The fried vegetables were good but the potato was really bad, it tasted like it was cooked a while back then reheated, 1 bite was all we did....
