Popped in for some appetizers and drinks with a friend. First time I have ever tried this place. It's directly above Greensleeves on George Street. Was pleasantly surprised. We had 7 spice Kettle cooked chips and the spinach dip. Both were larger portions than expected and very reasonably priced. Cocktails were delicious as well but the best part was the servicer. She was informative and attentive.
Will definitely be back.

Loose tie has never failed us once! We've been to the restaurant multiple times over the years, and not once have we had a bad cocktail, bad food or bad service. Whenever we have visitors in town, we know that Loose Tie won't disappoint! Highly recommend it!
Overall, a sadly middling experience. Most of our party was underwhelmed with their food, especially considering the higher prices. Cocktails were solid and the atmosphere was really nice. Service also seemed a bit absent-minded or possibly overwhelmed. It felt like the menu and options were new to them. Lack of vegetarian options was odd too.

Amazing cocktails, beautiful atmosphere and friendly service
Service was great, but we had to send two dishes back. One was undercooked and the other had hairs in it! They nicely comped us a small plate. But overall I was not as impressed by the food as I expected to be.
We both had seafood and each dish was cooked perfectly. Lots of flavors and not overwhelmed with garlic. Service was well timed, courteous and responsive. Music and sound system were excellent. A relaxed and enjoyable meal.
Lots of fun and good music. Decent beer selection. It can get busy so go a bit early.

This was the most aweful restaurant experience I have ever had. Booked on open table arrived at 6:50 and were seated. There was only one other table there when we arrived. Ordered drinks drinks came and cocktails were good. Ordered shareable appetizers and mains around 7:20. At 7:40 the waitress asked if everyone at our table was over 19......we had two underaged 16 yr olds with us celebrating my 83 yr old mothers birthday. We were informed we would have to leave by 8:30 as they had a lounge licence not a restaurant licence and they would try their best to get our food order out quickly. Nowhere on the open table reservation did it state they were anything other than a restaurant . I showed this to the waitress and said we were very disappointed that it took 50 minutes before we were informed ..... the experience went down hill from there after the manager came over to mansplain the licensing system in NL. He then said our orders had been moved ahead of those for the bar downstairs and we wouldn't be rushed .....then within 5 minutes main courses started to show up. We hadn't gotten our appetizers and so we had to cancel those. In their rush to get the food out they brought out two duck dishes that had been ordered medium but were cooked rare to medium rare. The duck was cut so it was sent back and not reordered. The lobster and shrimp paste was ok although the lobster was a bit tough. The cod dish with risotto was excellent. We then left without ordering dessert and we were not asked if we wanted dessert. But then again it was 8:20. The restaurant was still empty.....I can see why! Absolutely terrible. We should have left at 7:40 when we were informed but we assumed with so few people there that our appies were ready and everything else would happen after that. We were now in a bind without a reservation on Saturday night. We didn't realize the busy bar downstairs was sharing the kitchen. The listing in open table should have clearly stated LOUNGE no minors after 8:30.

Not a bad spot, but the bartender at the time was pretty occupied talking to his friends that came in and sat at the other side of the bar while I’m waiting here for 5 minutes until he even noticed me
Amazing atmosphere, good drinks, awesome owners.
Great Staff and food
Ate here once a few years ago and forgot how good the food is. Every dish was perfect. Loosetie will definitely be our new go to. The staff are amazing. The bartender and cocktail offerings are exceptional. For me it is a "you have to eat here" spot in St. John's.Thank you for elevating our food and drink scene!!
