Surprisingly good food!
I have to be honest, with the lounge atmosphere, I walked in thinking I was in for some mediocre and overpriced dinner. But what quickly arrived at the table were some of the best dishes we had in Newfoundland!
The charcuterie was excellent and left me wondering were it was procured from (I had just searched the area for a deli and struggled to find comparable options), the grilled squid was amazing and left lingering heat on the pallet, we had the garlic and lemon shrimp - great and the red curry mussels.
All was fantastic and my party was all marvelling with the quality - thank you!

Our dining experience at Loose Tie was the best we have had locally since the pandemic. I was worried the service industry couldn't return to the same standard as before, but I am pleasantly surprised with this overlooked spot to eat. I will return soon. The food is fresh and fast. The service is impeccable. Our server Janel knew every detail about the menu we asked and she made us feel like royalty. I cannot recommend this place more. I would put a 10 star out of 5 star review if I could.

This is our first time travelling to St. John’s and we wanted to try as many food options as possible. Loose Tie left a remarkable impression on us and we cannot wait to come back on our future travels. The food was extremely fresh and delicious, and fast. The service was outstanding, our server Janel was very accommodating to our 11 month old and made it an experience he could enjoy as well. She described each menu item in detail and gave us some recommendations which we loved. The service was a true reflection of how friendly and accommodating East Coasters are compared to back home! We are so happy we made it here on our trip. Thank you Loose Tie & staff.

It took an hour to get our food and when we asked our server about it they were not impressed that we were asking. When we asked if they could bring out the olives they said no, everything needs to come out at the same time. The olives were cold straight out of the fridge. One of us ordered a cocktail that said it had chambord in it, when asked the server about it after tasting it she said yeah, they put contreau in it now instead. No apologies on anything.

Wanted to try this out because I heard about it from somebody else. Food was absolutely fantastic. Fresh cod as good as I have ever had it. Cow cheek was succulent. Service was attentive, friendly, and very helpful with suggestions. I'm not sure why this place wasn't busy. It was easy to get a table and the food was truly top-notch. Definitely going back for more.

Popped in for some appetizers and drinks with a friend. First time I have ever tried this place. It's directly above Greensleeves on George Street. Was pleasantly surprised. We had 7 spice Kettle cooked chips and the spinach dip. Both were larger portions than expected and very reasonably priced. Cocktails were delicious as well but the best part was the servicer. She was informative and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Loose tie has never failed us once! We've been to the restaurant multiple times over the years, and not once have we had a bad cocktail, bad food or bad service. Whenever we have visitors in town, we know that Loose Tie won't disappoint! Highly recommend it!
